Uniden EXA 7950 Cordless Phone Questions & Answers
Will my land phone anser machine work even when batteries are dead
The answering part of the machine will probably work as it is powered by the phone company circuit. If you do not put batteries in the BASE unit, it is line powered and will continue to work if batteries are dead. However, your handsets will not work, they will not ring and you will get no dial tone as they will not transmit a signal . A hint is to replace the batteries with new nickel-metal hydride batteries to assure long battery life if you have replaceable battery capability. Mine have lasted 10 years so far and still going strong!
The phone is dead but the machine still answer
Make sure the battery is inserted correctly in the cordless handset and that it is left on the charging cradle to fully charge overnight.
If the battery still does not power the phone even after charging, then the battery may be permanently depleted. Try buying a new battery for the unit. Be sure to fully charge the new battery as well before using.
Good luck.
Frequent beeping
if the phone still works the battery is the trouble it cant charge up it just charges up the a certain point then no more and buying a bat. is almost more expensive then a new phone
Can I add another uniden hand set to a uniden D1680 series
The Uniden D-1680 system can have up to 12 handsets registered to the base. (The phone system was sold in bundles with 0 to 11 accessory handsets.) However, this cordless phone system has been discontinued. I can only find used DCX160 handsets (the compatible accessory handset) on Amazon and E-bay.
I hope this helps.

Sync 2 versions of Uniden Dect 6.0 to work off the same base.
Yes, you can join an older and a newer version of Uniden Dect 6.0 cordless phones to work off the same base. Here are the steps to sync them:
- Disconnect the power cord from the base of both phones.
- Take the battery out of each handset.
- Wait for a few minutes.
- Reconnect the power cord to the base of the newer version phone and insert its battery.
- Wait for the phone to register on the base, which should take a few seconds.
- Once the newer phone has registered, repeat steps 4 and 5 with the older version phone.
- The older version phone should now register on the same base.
- Test the phones to make sure they are working properly.
If for some reason the phones do not register on the same base, refer to the instruction manual that came with the newer version phone for further troubleshooting steps.

Talk to your telephone service provider. There will be a fee.

(Uniden landline phones can make or receive calls; some models have a answering system. Most current models can even check if you have messages on the telephone provider's voice mail. (Sometimes, they'll give spurious voice mail information.) However, they don't have any built-in way of seeing any data (another call) from the telephone provider when the phone is in use.)
