John Deere 420,1020,2010,2020,2510,2520 Tractor Float - Page 8 Questions & Answers
I have a John deere 316 with a onan and it will not run unless the choke is almost closed, I have checked the fuel flow and the compression and all seems good. What do you think is wrong?
hello sir, mower will not start or run, runs only when primming, does it have good spark, good compression,or only runs on full choke, are you getting fuel to the engine if not try this, your fuel pump or your carb. is clogged up here is what you can do for a simple repair for the carb, you can remove the air filter and assy, empty fuel tank and clean out tank and line, remove the bowl nut and bowl careful of the gaskets, now spray carb cleaner in the small port holes in the carb steam in the middle of the carb until clean, now spray the bowl nut holes until clean there are three, after cleaning put bowl on the same way you removed it with dip towards front of float, put bow, and fresh gas,you should be good to go,hope this helps.,thank you.~~

John deer mower
Possibly just the fuse. But if you say the jumpers WERE positive to positive and neg to neg it shouldnt have been a problem but maybe the pos clamp touched the body. That would have cooked the battery. First check the fuse, if thats ok then connect your neg jumper lead to the chassis of mower to neg of truck and the pos to pos of truck and hold the other end to the large terminal on starter motor. This will bypass everything and only test starter. Engine will spin over if starter motor ok. There will be a strong spark when touching terminal so watch for fire hazard.

Drive does not work on a john deere 14sb
Wow a 14 sb, The best mower John Deere ever built. Hopefully its just the belt. If it is the transmission cable, they dont make it anymore.. You get a longer one. Before you buy anything, make sure the cable is routed correctly. Sometimes when you fold the handles the cable gets to the outside of the handles, it needs to stay on the inside and not bent ovet the take down knobs. If they are all routed good and it does need to be replaced you will need to order a new lever GX2206 and a new Push nut GX10434, they are needed for the new cable to work. Hope this helps. When I turn the key on my JD 2305 tractor to
You have a bad relay or pull in timer. You have the same M806808 fuel shut off solinoid as the 4000 series tractors. They use a timer/heater called a thermistor. This is common to your simptoms, I just dont see it for the 2305. Talk to your dealer, and ask him to look up a thermistor for your tractor.....Dont let him tell you have a fuel pump problem...Its a scam. Get back with me if they **** you around. The fuel shut off soleniod has three wires, you can check them for voltage. Just disconnect them and check voltage between the black and blue and the black and red. On the tractor side. You will have to crank the motor to start the timer circiut. after you start ( or just hit the key for 2 seconds) you should have voltage on the red ,during crank, and voltage on blue while the key is in the run position. If you do, the problem is in your soleniod. Remove it and do the same thing to confirm.

John Deere G049K Snow Thrower Service Repair
An older snowthrower will make some noise, but it depends on what kind of noise you are hearing. A "growl" is not common and can indicate the gearbox is low of oil or the oil needs to be changed. The gearbox is mounted on the back of the snowthrower and there will be a dipstick on top. There should be oil on the dipstick, and it should be kind of thick. Proper gear lube is 80-90, and should be a gold color. Also check to make sure the auger bearings are not going bad. You can grab ahold of the auger while the machine is off and try to wiggle it. If it moves at all the bearings will have to be replaced. Start there and let me know if you need anything else, Daniel.

How hard is it to replace the starter on a john
Not hard at all, disconnect battery than remove battery cable from starter, should be just one nut.there's a smaller wire that should just unplug, than there there should just be two bolts holding the starter in place remove them and you should be able to slide the starter out.

On john deere 345 18 hp kawasaki liquid cooled
Water pump gear or the water pump impeller could have failed. If its the pump and due to it being at the bottom front side of the engine it would take some time for it to boil due to the fan is always pulling air down thru the radiator and its at the very top of engine. Cool water on top and really hot coolant around the cylinder with sensor. I'm sure it's the pump.

The engine burns white-blue smoke.
i am guessing this is a gas engine on a farm tractor. White/blue smoke is usually a sign of burning oil. Depending on the color, it can also mean you are burning oil and water both. You could have bad rings, bad gaskets, or cracks in the head or block.
If there was a problem with too much gas from the carb, (flooding), then the smoke should be black.
