3. Apply a small amount of WD-40 or silicone spray lubricant to the temperature control dial.
4. Slowly turn the dial back and forth a few times to distribute the lubricant and loosen up any dirt or debris that may have been causing the stiffness.
5. Wipe away any excess lubricant with a clean, dry cloth.
6. Plug in the iron and turn it on to make sure the temperature control dial is turning smoothly.

If the stiffness persists or the temperature control dial is still not turning smoothly, you may need to take your iron to a professional for repair or replacement of the dial.

It would be more cheaper and easier just to buy a new clothing iron than to try and fix the steam release button on your iron.
