Replaced watch battery on bulova millennia alarm

Watches, well most quartz anyway, are programmed to alert it's wearer to the fact that the battery in the watch is growing weak and needs to be replaced. There are watches that use a 2 second split and then there are those, like my Bucherer quartz that hops at 5 second intervals. Remember, just because you put a "new in the package" battery in your watch does not guarantee that it is new by way of battery power. Some batteries go completely dead while sitting on shelves waiting to be sold. For those of you that don't know, take it from a man of experience, never... ever... ever... store loose change and opened, new or used, coin or watch batteries in the same junk drawer. They will combine chemically to cook off the battery cells like a .22 rounds and pieces can fly pretty fast. Have a great day!

Get it dried out as soon as possible as rust starts in as little as 48 hours. Then find out why it leaked. You will need a watchmaker

Looking for instruction manual for Bulova 98A48

I could not find your watch on their web site, perhaps it is discontinued?

You may find a watch that is similar to yours however.

If you go to "Boluva.com", you will find a menu at the top of the screen. Click on "service centre" and you will see a list o watch types; click on "boluva" and you will arrive at a list of instructions.

A search of these might help.

Otherwise try their repair service, who might be able to help you.

If he has to send it back to the factory it means that one of the cogs has failed - Bulova delivers major replacement parts only to their repair shops so an independent repairman can't fix it.
So yes, it appears that it was a correct diagnostic - otherwise it would have fix it himself. And the price is about right , $150m is the price just for the inspection and basic labor, the rest is extra - it depends on what else is damaged: a single ruby will cost you around $200.
The alarm section can't be connected to your present problem, it's been inactive for too long to pose a problem to the main mechanism.

It sounds like at least one button is dirty, and needs cleaning. Sometimes you can spray some electrical contact cleaner on just the switch and that will work. If it doesn't, take the watch into a Jewelry Repair shop and see if they agree with my assessment. Of course, there could be another problem, but electrical contacts slowly oxidize over time, and this is a pretty common problem.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Help needd to find out

Pull out the winding stem (crown) when second hand reaches 12 o'clock, set main time by ajusting stem, next press and hold A button "near 9 o'clock" hands will move quickly, when close to matching main time, release A button and press in and out quickly until it matches main time. Next push winding stem in, this will start the main and the sub-hands together for normal time. To set alarm press and hold A button until set time is reached, select B button alarm mode "2 o'clock" for beep or vibra, to turn alarm on/off press C button "4 o'clock" for 1 or 2 seconds, the sub hands will move rapidly until it reaches normal time and alarm will sound 3 times indicating it is set, finally when alarm goes off early in the morning for example you can press any button to stop. To reset alarm press C and it will go back to the original alarm setting.

I have a spare set of instructions if required.

I was wondering where to find the seiral number of

The model sometimes is on the case back or inside the case back and the serial number inside on the movement. Therefore you would have to remove the case back. Be careful if you do this so you do not damage the case. Maybe better to have a shop do this for you.

What is this watch model Caravelle By Bulova c875182 45C04 and 05

Click on the link and ID your watch. The numbers are not identified. If you bought it on eBay, Amazon or anywhere other than a dealer shop, it is a Chinese clone. Bulova 98H48. What battery is in it please? I opened the watch up to replace the battery and ended up losing it. Thanks.

They use many, so the answer is always "the same as the one that came out of it". https://www.energizer.com/specialty-battery-finder/bulova-watch-battery-replacement Nothing here, which is odd because that normally works, https://www.google.com/search?q=Bulova+98H48+battery+type Look for tiny engraving next to the battery compartment. Or ask them direct. https://www.bulova.com/ca/en/contact-us.html ..

The push button function on swiss model 2423.11 bulova accutron.

Jesus I can't believe no one answered this guy with even an "I don't know." in 6 years. If it's like my watch, it's for synchronizing the second hand. If you press the button on the minute mark from the NIST time web site, when your watch is ten seconds fast, the second hand will stop for ten seconds. This makes your watch match the time clock. The really cool thing is if your watch is SLOW, if you press the button on the minute mark when your watch is twenty seconds behind the NIST time web site, the second hand will SPEED UP until it matches the NIST time. Very cool and this is **totally from my memory** because I just got my watch back from Bulova but I forgot to ask about the button.

What battery does the Bulova C837381 take and how do you put back on?

Tip & How-To about Watches Changing Watch Batteries Lots of posters ask "what is the battery in my (name of watch)" with a view to changing it yourself. This is a bad idea for many reasons. You don't have the tools or knowledge to remove a rotary screw on back, or the gasket sealant for a waterproof watch. Some fashion watches have 4 traditional screw and need professional grade jeweler screwdrivers. Also, there are about 20 batteries commonly used in watches, in various sizes and internal technology, Lithium Ion, Silver Oxide and Manganese Alkaline. If you buy them, you generally have to buy 10! Don't sweat the details. Just take the watch to your local jeweler. They have all the batteries at hand and the tools to remove the back. It is done whilst you wait for $8 to $15!
