Porter Cable C2002 Oil Free Umc Pancake Compressor Questions & Answers
Haven't used in 10 months, when I tried to use it,
Was your regulator crancked all the way down? If it was you can of course open it back up. If not the regulator need repair or replacement. Many of the units used on these small compressors are relatively weak in design so breaking them down and freeing up the piston inside may lead to breaking the pat all together. You should price a new regulator before trying to fix yours in case you need a new one after all. Compare your prices to that of a new unit to decide if further repair attempts are worth while.

Will not start up
Let the air out of the tank with the saftey blow out. You pull on the key ring that is attached to it.
Will not pressure up even though it runs and runs and runs
Check for leaks of course... THEN check the check valve AND the Compression Relief valve which is OFTEN cintained in teh pressure switch. This valve bleeds the compression left in the head so the thing can restart without a pressure load. This is a small pintle that closes when the pressure switch starts the compressor. The check valve is the other thing and it is often a part of either the head or the pressure line to the tank at the tank.

Kango 950 motor runs but hammer only engages sometimes
This is an indication that the hammer needs service. When you take the barrel off you will see the striker. There is a piston inside the striker, when the rubber rings on the piston wear out you have the problem you describe. time to replace the motor brushes clean and regressed, make sure to use the correct grease, Check the backlash on ring and pinions. Don't put too much grease on the piston or it will stick and not strike. Good luck I forgot to ask which version. This is for the uk atlas coco, silver with blue or red handle

Where can I get a set of brushes for a kango 950X
Unfortunately, you won't find them - Kango was a great hammer, but the company has been gone for many years and there are no parts available.
I would find a local repair shop that may have a different brand brush that is the same or bigger dimensions - by using a piece of 220 grit sandpaper on a hard, flat surface - you can sand them down to the proper size.
It will get you out of a bind
