The simplest way to check if the DLC-7E blade is one of the recalled blades is to take the blade out and look at it. If there are 4 rivets holding the blades to the stem, it should not be used. Sounds like you've lost a motor. Same thing happened with my Kitchen Aid. Toasted motor.
