Cuisinart DLC-7SFP Pro Food Processor Questions & Answers
I have a Cuisinart 14 cup food processor which will not turn on
Hi-
We have a Cuisinart and these tools are very rugged- so I doubt that the motor is bad. My only suggestion would be to make sure that the safety catch is being actuated when you click the cover clockwise to secure the mixing chamber. There is a hole in the housing that the acuator pin sticks into to disengage the safety switch. Perhaps the switch is not being pressed off.
Hope this helps,
Jeff

Need a product manual
Try going here:
Food Processors Product Manuals Cuisinart com
Look for a machine with the same style / bowl size as yours if your specific machine is not available. You can even download more than one to get additional recipes!
The main important thing if you have an older machine is to make sure when putting it together that the feed tube from the top aligns with the part of the bowl with the spring, so the button on the base gets depressed correctly. For some, the spring mechanism is on the front with the handle, for some it is opposite the handle.
If you put the top on backwards it won't work correctly, and you might break the catch when trying to get it apart... either on the lid, or the bowl, or both. It can be an expensive mistake.

Motor base cover for dlc 7 super pro
Try buying a new motor base on eBay. It's actually quite cheap. If you are daunted by the shipping cost of this monster, you can always ask the seller to sell you just the brown bottom cover. Under each foot is a screw which attaches the molded base it to the rest of the assembly. It's a lot cheaper to just have that part sent to you. This works as long as you are handy in making the switch of the base.

Hi jonnros,
Welcome to fixya!
Copy and paste this web address into your browser and take a look at the 4th and 5th pictures: http://www.smallappliance.com/images/smallappliance/english/bowls2.pdf
If this is the part you have, hopefully you can get it back in going by the pic.
If you can't get it to work, this website has the replacement lid. The web address for the lid that fits DLC7 is: http://www.smallappliance.com/product.asp?pid=1107&cur=USD&cam=GA_B_cuisinart_parts&sid=18956&mid=8&gid=18970&prdCls=P&pfor=6270&shopBy=Brand
Hope this helps. Please place a vote for me when you accept this solution. Good luck.
Thanks,
Handie Andie

Cracked plastic sheath on the motor drive shaft
The shaft is spinning inside the sleeve. So is should not be hard to
remove. With a DLC-7SP, I grabbed the spindle with some pliers, channel
locks might do well and put a handle of a screwdriver between the pliers
and the top deck and pried. Second attempt and it pulled up easily.
Place the screwdriver beside one of the top deck screw covers to
transfer force directly to the motor. Otherwise top deck would probably
break.
Clean the old shaft to remove any contamination.
New one can be driven on with a hammer and block of wood.

Improper positioning of bowl, lid and pushers will not close the safety interlock switch. Read the manual.

If the motor is running, the problem can be that the motor shaft is spinning inside the drive sleeve. Replace the sleeve. That is more common than a motor failure.

Safety pin on food processor won't retract
It sounds like the safety interlock system on your Cuisinart 14 cup food processor is engaged, preventing the bowl from fitting securely onto the base. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
- Unplug the unit from the electrical outlet.
- Use a small, pointed object such as a toothpick to gently push the white safety pin up and out of its locked position. This may take some effort.
- Check the base of the food processor for any obstructions or debris that may be preventing the bowl from fitting correctly. Clean any debris you find.
- Reinsert the bowl onto the base, ensuring that it is properly aligned and twisted into place.
- Press the bowl down firmly onto the base until you hear and feel it click into place.
- Plug the unit back in and test it to see if the safety interlock system has been disengaged and the food processor is working normally.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to take the unit to a professional repair technician or contact Cuisinart customer service for further assistance.
