Cuisinart DLC-5 Food Processor - Page 3 Questions & Answers
I cannot get the lid on correctly
The correct assembly varies by model #. If you truly have a DLC-5, assemble it exactly like the picture/icon shows you here. I find it helpful the place the tab underneath the feed tube slightly left of center of the work bowl handle and the slide lid counter-clockwise (on the DLC-5 only). If you have a different model # other than the DLC-5, call Cuisinart at 1-800-726-0190 and they will walk you through the assembly - just have your model # ready (located on bottom of base of processor).
My food processor is ancient and works like a new
You should probably not use the thing anymore. The type of plastic they used back then gets very brittle over time, and there's a chance that the bowl could shatter while you're using the processor. There's a chance that if that happens the safety switch will stay engaged and the unprotected blades will keep spinning, right where your hand is. It happened to me.
Food processor lid interlock tab
Unfortunately, you can't glue it back on with any amount of long term success. Your best solution is to look for a new lid on Ebay or you can buy parts at GourmetDepot.com. They have the widest selection.
Good luck!
Power is available (light is one) but nothing
Sounds like a safety feature working. Unplug. Take apart as if you are going to clean it. Check all parts carefully to see if there is anything broken, like a nub.(Are all parts there?) Put back together, making sure they are fully engaged. Plug in and try. This happened to my food processor and it was a bit of dried food stuck in the bowls sliding track that kept it from clicking fully connected. Hope this helps!
Food processor
I phoned the 800 number at Cuisinart (800-243-8540) and the person who answered the phone explained to me what to do: Fill the bowl with the hottest tap water I have (but not boiling) above the entire blade (including the part that fits over the shaft). He said to pulse a few times, then try to pull it off, but not to expect it to work right away. He said to do this until it comes off and that it could take 1/2 hour. I did what he said, and the blade came off after the first pulses. But also, the water was pouring out all over the counter--leaking between the bowl and the base (possibly because my old work bowl is also cracked, but I'm not sure).
I was told that the problem would happen again, and that I needed replace the blade and the shaft (which is cracked, as he guessed), both of which are available from Cuisinart.
Lid for my moulinex Foodprocessor
Moulinex went bankrupt in about 2001 and the name was purchased by Groupe SEB. They do not have a United States presence anymore, and I doubt they would have the parts still in stock. Your best bet is to buy one from eBay - just search for your exact model #. Once in a blue moon, you will see a parts-only listing, but generally you will have to buy an old machine that comes with the parts that you need.
I would sell you mine, but I'm kind of attached to my Moulinex La Machine :-)

Cusinart little pro plus
I have this food processorfor years and I love it. If you need a copy of the manual go to the Cuisinart website - they have all of the maunals listed there. But, here is the instructinos for the juicer. Good Luck.
Using The Juicer
Attachment
The Citrus Juicer
Attachment includes:
Strainer Basket, which
locks into processor work
bowl. It has grooved cam
on one side and smooth
locking device on opposite
side. In its center is the:
Juicer Stem Adapter,
which fits over motor shaft
of Pro Plus™.
Small cone, for lemons
and limes. It must always
be attached to Adapter
when Attachment is in use.
Slot in center of underside
fits rib on Adapter.
Medium cone, for oranges
and large cone, for grapefruits.
Both fit over small
cone.
1. Place work bowl on Pro
Plus™ base in usual way.
Hold Strainer Basket
open side up, with
locking device facing
you. Align locking device
slightly to left of locking
tab on front rim of work
bowl.
Place strainer basket on
work bowl, fitting Juicer
Stem Adapter loosely
over motor shaft. Turn
basket counterclockwise
as far as it will go, until it
clicks into position.
Turn Juicer Stem
Adapter clockwise until it
drops into position.
Check that it is down as
far as it will go on the
motor shaft.
2. Hold small cone by top
and place it over Juicer
Stem Adapter, fitting slot
over rib on adapter.
Cut citrus fruit in half and
hold cut side down over
cone. With other hand,
hold control lever in
PULSE position and
press down fruit to
extract juice. For continuous
operation, move
control lever to ON. Twist
fruit to extract most juice.
Do not allow juice to
overflow center tube of
work bowl.
To remove attachment,
remove cone from Juicer
Stem Adapter. Loosen
adapter from motor shaft
by lifting it slightly, straight
up. Hold Strainer Basket
on both sides and turn
clockwise to unlock it from
work bowl. Lift straight up.
Remove work bowl from
base and pour out juice.

Removing a Cuisinart Food Processor Work Bowl
You have to remove the pusher first by twisting it off. Then press the sides of the pusher sleeve inward and slide the sleeve up and out of place. Then twist off the lid - all twisting on these food processors works either clockwise or counterlcokwise - not both. Then twist the work bowl to the left (clockwise). Voila!

Jammed cutting blade in cuisinart tube
Try immersing the tube in super hot water. The plastic might expand just enough to let you slip out the blade. Since the tube is dishwasher safe, there should be no harm. A little soap in the water might help it slip out.
Stuck dough blade
On the DLC 7 Pro cuisinart the blade was removed by removing
the plastic bottom. Make sure the unit is unplugged. Remove the four rubber pads on the bottom. This was the hardest part because the pads are glued so securely that the inner rubber surface tears as it's removed. I used two flat blade screwdrivers and worked carefully, back and forth. Using a #2 philips, remove the four screws. Place the unit on its side and while inserting a screwdriver between a spoke and the motor frame gently turn the blade counter clockwise. Be careful not to put pressure against the cooling fins. Very little pressure was needed and the blade came right out. I might have been able to hold the shaft from turning without removing the bottom, by going through the vent slots in the bottom, but I was concerned with cracking the plastic. To replace the rubber pads I matched the design of the torn rubber pad with the shape (design) of the surface glued rubber and used thin two-sided tape.
My food processor turn on
Cuisinart Food Processors – Motor Test
First, do a motor test by removing the work bowl completely and using a pen to press in the grey button on top of the base (with the food processor turned on of course), toward the back. If the processor spins, the motor is still good. At that point, I would inspect the work bowl pieces, lid, pusher assembly, etc for cracks/damage. If all appears well, insert ALL the pieces back into place and try again. If even one piece is out of place, the processor will not spin.
If it no longer spins, the motor has a problem.
Good luck!
