My 13.5hp ov358ea is .004 both valves. Would like to know model of your engine. I want to replace the non-adjustable carburetor of my 13.5hp ov358ea with an adjustable carburetor.

if it restarts after it sits a while you need to check the spindels on the deck one or both may have bearings sezing up after the run and heat up.

Yes Will the engine turn over if turned by hand ? If so it probably is you starter that needs work on. You replaced the battery but are you sure it is fully charged? These are things to check before spending a lot of money.

sounds like the spring on the drive belt is weak or broken needs to be replaced.

bad hdro pump but first try and change hydro oil and filter sometimes it works

it's a square head pipe plug @ base of eng. either right or left side of machine may also have a quik change fitting instead its black plastic w/ yellow cap

If it isn't on the bottom of the engine (above the blade) then you don't have one. This is not that uncommon. When you need to drain the oil, FIRST- pull the spark plug wire off!!! Then remove the dip stick or filler plug and turn the unit upside down and drain the oil.

Instead of spending all day banging on it all day and getting frustrated i usually run down to the local auto parts shop and borrow a puller, most places these days has a lending library where you have pay a deposit and once you bring back the tool they will give you your cash back. Best way to make sure it comes off without damaging it out of frustration. use a few squirts of penetrating fluid before you go and it will help as well.

check the tension on the drive belts

I.D. plates are offen found over one of the rear wheels, or under the seat. You may be able to make your own cable, HD/Lowes/hware stores carry cable in bulk and also have clamps to secure a loop in the ends. good luck, Chuck

yes there is a pulley under the tin cover by the forward rev shift control in the center that pulley changes dia when changing speeds they get stuck and don't change position

take deck belt of and check that blades stiil turn by hand most likley bent or broken
