Replace the fuel lines. I had the same problem with one of my riders. The inside of the fuel lines had rotted and they were collapsing when they tried to suck the gas through them. New lines and it ran all day!

Hi sounds like a carbretta problem, not enough fuel reaching the engine for it to run at higher rev's.

carb carb carb rebuild rebuild rebuild but as always check spark and compressin on both sides if you only have spark on one side it will sound fine untill under load

Not familiar with this model, but this is exactly how the smaller ones behave when the carburetor diaphragm is shot. Larger engines usually have a float system with needle and seat in which case the problem is either a leaking needle/seat assembly or saturated float.

should be a metering screw for the carb that goes in and out for idle adjust.

if there is thread locking compound on bolt or threads it must be removed, use a tap to clean the threads and a wire brush to clean the bolts. Use a thread locking compound (blue) when reassembling, torque the bolts to 30 ft. lbs. alternating bolt to bolt in 7-10 lb. increments. Recheck the torque after the engine has been ran up to op temp.

did you gap spark plug to.028" ? may need to replace the valve cover gasket.

Just guessing here, but if there is no control of the throttle and the engine over revs, then more than likely the governor control is broke. Briggs if famous for that problem. Governor is around 25 dollars and a lower crankcase gasket. Requires the engine to be pulled, lower crankcase removed, remove all pieces of old governor and then re assemble with new governor and gasket.////Before doing all this check that both springs are on the governor on the exterior of motor. If you manually hold the governor arm back, counterclockwise, and it still revs, then you need to replace governor. Don't let it rev for long or it with throw a pushrod or worse. good luck

Did you replace spark plug?

Are you sure both magnetos are good? did you try swithing them to see if it reverts to the other cylinder. If that's not it I'd expect a stuck valve,or the adjustment came loose. Take valve cover off and make sure both are moving..
