How do I calibrate elevation grade for treadmill?

Hey there, sorry to hear you're having an issue with your elevation motor. I would be happy to help you solve the problem. Since you already installed your motor you can go straight into diagnostic mode. To get into Diagnostic Mode on your L8 Make sure to turn off your treadmill. -ET's - Press Menu and Start at the same time -CT's - Press Manual (or Display^) and Start at the same time -All other L SERIES mills - Press Display (or display and Start at the same time SideNote- -*CT's that were manufactured after 09/2003 - Press Display and start at the same time. Few things you want to do, if you haven't already. A. Align the motor with the clevis mount and install the motor mounting pin. B. Insert hitch pin. C. Reconnect the elevation harness to the lower board D. Set the lowest limit switch by holding the UP elevation button for 5 seconds. Then press and hold the DN elevation button one more time to make sure you only hear a click. E. For L7/L8 machines; Thread the elevation nut to where its flush with the threads on the "worm' shaft. F. Mount the elevation nut to the leg assembly by lining up the holes on the leg assembly. You may have to move the leg assembly so that the holes on the elevation nut line up. Then slide the two elevation pins through the elevation assembly and into the elevation nut. then secure the pins with the 2 set screws. To calibrate your potentiometer you can try to adjust while it is installed but for best results you must calibrate it before its in your motor housing. G. Calibrate the elevation potentiometer and to do so you must; 1st: Visually confirm treadmill is leveled. (0% grade) 2nd: Adjust the settings as follows; All L SERIES millls should read 0.0 3rd: If the setting is incorrect, follow these steps. Step 1: Turn the post of the potentiometer all the way CLOCKWISE. Step 2: SLOWLY turn the potentiometer COUNTER CLOCKWISE until the setting is correct. H. Carefully install potentiometer into the motor housing *NOTE: The setting may vary when inserting the potentiometer into the motor. As long as the change is minimal, fine adjustment can be achieved by rotating the meter while inside the elevation motor. I. Press OFF to turn treadmill off. Then restart the machine in manual mode to TEST elevation after resetting your potentiometer. As long as the change is minimal, fine adjustment can be achieved by rotating the potentiometer while inside the elevation motor. For more Diagnostic features and possibly further detail, I will be attaching a Link to your machines service manual. I hope this helps, always hear to help. I have a Landice L8 and the error code L5???

LS Error on Landice L-Series Treadmills with Belt Movement Probable Cause A LS error on the Landice L-Series treadmills can also look like L5 and this error code means there is a loss of speed signal. This error can occur with belt movement but speed will not increase. Causes for the LS or L5 error with belt movement are:A) Speed sensor is out of adjustment B) Speed sensor is damaged or faulty C) Display cable is damaged or faulty D) Improper speed control wiring Corrective Action A) Speed sensor should sit parallel with the flywheel and gap between speed sensor and flywheel should be within 1/16". Adjust speed sensor if necessary. B) Inspect speed sensor connector to relay board. Check for pushed pins or loose wires. Repair or replace speed sensor assembly if necessary. C) Inspect upper harness or display cable connector to relay board. Check for pushed pins or loose wires, giving specific attention to pin 5 (brown) and pin 9 (green). Repair or replace display cable if necessary. D) Inspect speed control wiring:
  1. Checking purple wire from V+ on pwm board to P3 on the relay board
  2. Checking orange wire from P1 on pwm board to P1 on the relay board
  3. Checking brown wire from P2 on pwm board to P2 on the relay board
  4. Confirm P3 on pmw board has no connection
Correct speed control wiring if necessary. Details about LS Error on Landice Series Treadmills with Belt Movement

Landice L8 automatically turns on by itself

It is either the control board or the overlay. I would think it is probably the start button on the overlay that is stuck. The solution is to replace the overlay.

Landice L8 has an L5 error displayed wont start up

is a speed sensor problem or the card connectors are wired specifically where the motor wires, sometimes that part is too hot and breaks the solder

The treadmill belt is making a noise and feel like

If it has a low pitch growling when you start unit then the running belt is too tight and the adjusting bolts need to be backed until the growling noise is lessened or eliminate without the running belt slipping.
If it is the drive belt slipping, the adjustment bolt is underneath the frame so you will need to elevate the treadmill and adjust the bolt until slippage is eliminated without over tightening the drive belt.

Landice 8 over speed protection

first screen shows any error number? for what you describe I think it is simply speed sensor, try to check the cables leading to the sensor card. and then checks whether the sensor is aligned correctly.
Check speed sensor alignment.
It should be within 1/16" of the flywheel
and parallel to the flywheel.
Is it out of position?

My Landice L7 treadmill for home use races to speed when I turn it on. I cannot control the speed, it just increases automatically to top speed.

There could be a few different things causing your Landice L7 treadmill to race to top speed when turned on. Here are some potential causes and solutions:
  1. Motor Control Board: The motor control board may be malfunctioning and sending the treadmill into top speed automatically. If this is the case, you will need to replace the motor control board.
  2. Console Board: The console board may be sending incorrect signals to the motor control board, causing the treadmill to race to top speed. If this is the case, you will need to replace the console board.
  3. Speed Sensor: The speed sensor may be malfunctioning and sending incorrect signals to the motor control board. If this is the case, you will need to replace the speed sensor.
  4. Calibration: The treadmill may be out of calibration, causing it to race to top speed. To recalibrate the treadmill, consult your owner's manual for instructions.
It's recommended to consult with a qualified technician to diagnose and fix the issue to avoid causing further damage or injury.

Landice L7 Problems. It runs fine until drops below 2 miles per hour and then it stops for 2 or 3 seconds and starts back up for 2 or 3 seconds.

It sounds like you normal routine has made the motor hot and then when you slow down the residual heat is causing the motor to cut out. Check the vents in the motor for fluff or blockage. https://www.google.com/search?q=Landice+L7+treadmill+stopping+at+cool+down ..
