In almost all treadmill error 1 denotes the speed sensor error. In you case I suspect there is some variation in the alignment of the speed sensor. May it moved away from the magnet Which is fixed on the rotating wheel. Try to make it closer as much as it can, be sure not to keep a small distance .hope it will solve the problem. Tooshy, sounds like a faulty control board.

Motor controls for New Balance can be found by doing a Google search on Treadmill Analyzer and look for the MCB List page of repairs offered :-)

this is indicative the some electronics components is in short circuit in the pcb. You must replace. However RUN the software calibration for diagnose, and fix it. see the block diagram.you can measure the input voltage for the main motor if there are the motor is o.k and vice-versa2) you can measure the output meassure from the pcb board is there are NOT the board is faulty for the input voltage motor.God bless you

It sound like either the wire harness that goes to upper console is bad or the Motor Control Board that has the 5v or 12v is missing. Here is the bad news New Balance is out of the Treadmill business and do not carry these items anymore. Their might be one other thing you might try is that if this unit was not maintain as owner's manual suggests, then the fuse may have open up. You must open the motor shroud locate motor control board find the fuse, if you have a multi meter check continuity of the fuse if open replace it with the same value ( maybe 15amps). Plug unit in if the display returns then proceed to do the prescribe maintenance in owner's hopefully that the belt and deck was not damaged when it went dead.

I have a Horizon Treadmill that had the same error, it turned out to be a calibration using the adjustments on the logic board. The New Balance does not show the calibration procedure, but you can call 800-497-5831 for service. Hopefully it is still under warranty. Does the screen turn on (blue) and then go black or does it stay blue? Mine has a similar problem where when the main power switch is flipped, it lights up, shows the initialization screen, then goes dark. Pressing any button on the console does nothing. I opened the console up and suspect one programmable microcontroller is bad. I'm going to see if I can get that part from FitnessQuest instead of replacing the whole board.

I have the same problem and have isolated it to the main console board. When you flip the main power switch, does the console display light up briefly and then go dark?

my be the motor isolation winding have some problem, or there is some moisture deposit inside the motor or the motor driving card. that's why u got shock. also check the ground wiring is proper or not. in my opinion as its create danger for u, contact the manufacturer for service.

The sensor is one that records the movement or speed of the belt, some machines are located next to the engine flywheel. and other off the front roller pulley on the left side exactly. physical form depends on the manufacturer and the only solution is to buy, where somewhere distributing or selling accessories for treadmills

The E1 Error is for the sensor problem and the E3 error is for the IC crasg in the machine...

You may have a beltand deck problem. Test by the following procedure:
without the poweron stand on the walking belt, push the belt in the, direction it normally turns. If the belt is very difficult to turn (on most treadmill this means that you have high belt/deck friction I first apply silicone lubricant between the belt & deck to see if that clears up the problem. Most problems originate from the belt and deck 75 to 85% of the time.

This generally means that lubrication is needed to be applied between the belt and belt. You may purchase these kits thru www.jadfitness.com the products name is Lube and Walk follow the instructions that come with it to apply the lubrication.
