Kenmore HE2 Plus Front Load Washer - Page 10 Questions & Answers
1is there a plastic ball inside the Kenmore he2 plus front loader washer drain pump hose
I would not be so quick to judge it as a clog. Check valves often take the shape of a ball. In transmission and carburetors they are steel. Given that the he2 drum is lower then the drain connection in the wall it makes perfect sense for a check valve in the drain hose. If you can not see a way for it to get in there and it appears large enough to stop water form flowing back into the machine I am betting it is a check valve. Look carefully at how it might fit on the machine side of the line, if I am right, it should be able to block the hole. When water is moved toward the house drain, there should be no way for it to block the water. There is also a very good chance it is a solid ball. Look at it very carefully before deciding to remove it.
When I go and try to run the cleaning cycle, the
"rL" indicates a garment has been detected inside the wash tub. Garments are detected by weight. The wash tub must remain empty during a Clean Cycle. If you inspect the wash tub and it appears to be clear, inspect the area around the door bellow (rubber door seal) for loose items. It is common for small garments, such as socks and underwear to get lodged in the rubber folds. Pull back the folds around the door and inspect the perimeter of the seal. If you need further guidance please let me know. I hope this helps you.
Fix F-20 Error Code
We had a shared machine between the tenants in my apartment building. We would see this code a lot. The landlord had to clean out all of the debris that collected in there. Don't know if you have done that already. Seems you have done more than our landlord did.
My HE2 front loading washing machine smells
remove the front bottom panel.
there is a trap down there just before the pump. mine was a cylinder with a handle to unscrew the cap/filter.
clean this out every 6 months..
No power when you push power button
Flip your breaker completely off. Wait about 20 secs. then flip it back on and make sure it is fully on and that it holds. Then try pushing the power button on machine. Failling that you may need to contact the properly trained techy.
Drain hose leaking
If your drain hose is leaking I would expect your electronic control to be at fault. The frequency driver is out of sync and it is causing the pump to pump out at a increased rate which is taxing the structural integrity of the drain hose. Replace that and your problems will be solved.
Kenmore error codes
Unfortunately this is a bad error code. Most times it is either the control panel or the main control unit. Both are expensive and there is no way to determine which has failed with out replacing them.
Sorry for the bad news.
Here is what the tech sheet has to say about the error code;
SERIAL COMMUNICATION ERROR
Possible Causes/Procedure
- Unplug washer or disconnect power.
- Check that the power cord terminals are connected at the right position to the RFI filter
(white-Neutral/ black-Line).
- Check the two ground switches are pressed correctly by the toe and rear panels.
- Check that ground switches are fitted correctly, and are not broken and the green
ground wires are connected correctly.
- Check both ground switches are not broken or have not scratch on them.
- Check that all the ground harnesses (green wires) are connected correctly and are not
broken or wires became detached.
- Check all wire harness connections from the CCU (MI3 cavity), main Motor and MCU are
not broken or wires detached and connector internal pins are visible.
- Check for continuity from the MCU connector wires to CCU (MI3 cavity) connector.
- If the continuity diagnosis failed the Main Harness must be replaced.
- Make sure that all the connectors are fully seated.
- Check the drive system for any worn or failed components.
- Plug in washer or reconnect power.
- Verify the unit operation by running a test cycle.
