hopless, this is. bitlocker or hdd lockers, hdd encryption was turned on did you do that or the person sold it used to you did that if yes, other person only they can unlock that. or buy new HDD (SSD ,10x better) and start fresh, buy and OS, install it and run , w7 up, or Linux.

change boot order to the disc/usb that has the recovery on. don't let it boot from hard drive.

check that the wifi is being managed by Windows and not the application for the wifi, check you wifi settings as well.

why do you need more memory your machine wont work better

well make sure that the drivers are properly installed? go into the device manager to see that the proper drivers are there if not do an update if available for those drivers, seek a professional if you do not know how to go about it.

Have you replaced the heat sink thermal paste? Also the fan blades may look clean, but have you removed the fan and checked the outlet grill that the fan blows through, it gets clogged with fluff, dust and hair etc.

Charles - does the laptop have an alternate function button that allows for different displays? Similar to the presentation mode, this will manually tell the laptop to use either the native screen, an extension screen (the projector or monitor) or both. Typically this is triggered with the Function (Fn) button and maybe one of the F7 keys at the top. You'll see writing on it that will say LCD/CRT or have a little box like a monitor. Some of these products having an unusual malfunction with their processing units (CPU) not because of the bad processor but mostly for its Capacitor malfunction which supports and regulates its voltage. I presume your laptop processor works on 0.091Volts to 1 volts that make this laptop slower. You can check by going through to the back of your laptop processor when you see this (NEC Tokin) part then you have to replace it with the new one or you can replace it with SMD capacitor. PXE-2.1 means that your computer is booting via LAN. Just change the booting sequence to HDD.
