No ice is being made.

Most likely either water valve is bad or ice maker is bad. You would need to determine if Ice Maker is sending voltage to water valve. If it is, replace valve. If it's not, replace ice maker. Also be sure filler tube going through back wall is not frozen. If it is, replace water valve.

Why is My filter hose leaking at the neck right before connection to tightening hose to filter under the sink.

Sounds like either the hose has a hole in it, it isn't seated right, or it isn't tightened sufficiently at the connection. Most often, leaks by the connection are actually leaks at the connection and the water is running down the pipe a bit. Try turning the water off in the main system or at any valve before the connection and then tightening the connection another quarter turn. While directions caution us to be careful not to tighten too tightly, we must insure that our connections are sufficiently tight so that the water doesn't leak out. You may also take the connection off and make sure you have a layer of plumber's silicon tape on the threads and then put the connection back together, making sure it is tight enough so that there are no leaks. Less likely, but possibly, the hose may have a small hole in it. In this case, the water is likely spurting out of the hole rather than slowly leaking down the pipe.

Changing the water filter in my Frigidaire

My Frigidaire PureSource water filter housing wouldn't unscrew either. Even with the supplied plastic "wrench" and later a cloth-covered pipe wrench, it wouldn't budge. Since both my icemaker and my door dispenser stopped dispensing water, and the filter housing in the fridge wouldn't budge, I suspected that the filter was full of frozen water. (Sometimes things on the top shelf of the fridge freeze, so it was obviously too cold.) I used a hair dryer on the water filter housing for a few minutes, and then the water filter unscrewed easily. Sure enough, the whole inside was a block of frozen water. This would have been such a simple repair, HOWEVER unfortunately it turned out that I wrenched it too hard and broke the inlet valve on the housing. As soon as I thawed out the filter and reassembled, water was pouring out of the top. Took off the big cover at the top ceiling of the fridge and saw my problem. It's only about a $25 part, but I'd advise that you be careful to only turn, without rocking back and forth, the housing when trying to unscrew. I guess I wiggled it back and forth too much and cracked it.

Hi!
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
It does a lot of clicking (trying to start over and over again)
If thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
I use part no ERP410 POWER START RELAY, CAPACITOR AND OVERLOAD all in one. (110 v)

Water is collecting in bottom of freezer section.

There is usually a drain pan on the right hand side behind the front grille. It is long and skinny and pulls straight out the front. This collects the water when the freezer defrosts, then allows it to evaporate with the help of the fan for the compressor.

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

How do you remove the tube to replace the hinge at

There is a connector that you need to disconnect. There is a small white ring that you push with your fingertips and at the same time pull the plastic line out. To reinstall just push the plastic tubing back into the connector. It is located behind the grille of your unit.

A picture of the part is linked just below.

Connector.

I have a Kenmore side by side Model No.

The drain heater goes into the drain, not outside it.
You need a longer drain probe to push all the way through the drain.
Look underneath for a kink in the drain tube.

Compressor comes on but does not cool below 54

Good day,
The compressor is not starting. Either the compressor has failed, or the starting devices mounted on the side of the compressor are bad.

The parts mounted to the side of the compressor, are the overlaod protector, the starting relay, and on some models a start/run capacitor.
These items can be removed from the compressor, and taken to an appliance parts house for testing. You do not have to go to Sears. If the parts check O.K., then the compressor (a major cost item has failed).

P.S. If this machine is under 5 years of age. leave it alone. Call Sears for service. The compressor is under warranty for 5 years.

The freezer is cold, but the fridge stays around

The evaporator fan motor may be about to seize and is running to slowly to cool the fridge, cost about ($30).

Check to be sure you can get a replacement fan first, they last about 4 - 5 years. Available from a parts supplier or electric motor company.
Unplug fridge. Located usually in top of freezer behind a vented cover plate. Remove cover, remove screws holding fan in, may have to cut wires. Replace with new motor, make sure the fan spins the same direction (CW OR CCW) as your old one, if you don't know which way it should spin then be sure it pushes air into the freezer area and doesn't spin backward drawing air from the freezer area.
