Fridge not working
I've had this happen to my Kenmore 73503 several times. The 1st time took me a few hours to figure out what the problem was.
Basically the fridge is cooled from the freezer, so when you say your freezer is -2 degrees, it's a big tip off to the problem.
If you look very close in the freezer compartment at the back, you'll notice an opening with a little door at the top of the freezer compartment. This opening extends up the inside of the back of the fridge to the top of the fridge area via a square plastic tube.
Basically what happens in my fridge is the family loads the freezer to high especially at the top/back. This restricts or closes off the opening for the cold air to the fridge portion of the appliance ....resulting in a warm fridge, but cold freezer. Just remove the articles at the back of the freezer to correct problem. (It will take a few hours for the cold air to cool the fridge down)
Note: the temperature control unit in the fridge area controls the little door at the top of the freezer compartment, so if you haven't blocked off the opening, the next place to look would be either at the mechanical parts of the little door or the temperature control unit itself in the fridge
Strange Noise - Creaking
I had the same problem. My fridge would make a creaking sound as soon as the freezer was closed. I took 10 minutes to trouble shoot the problem and pinpointed that it was coming from the icemaker. After wondering if I was going to have to replace it, I noticed a piece of ice wedged in a way so that the ice maker arms could not fall into the basin to make ice. The sound was the motor creaking because of the jam. Removed the ice and the sound went away. Now, I'm sure the motor will **** out in a few months since it has been jammed for 2 weeks burning up the motor. Oh well. Hope this helps.
Freezer door will not open!
Something has caused the gasket material to adhere; either the material from which the gasket is made or a spill of something sticky that has dried.
If you can get a crack to open anywhere, slide a butter knife into it and wobble or rock it while applying a little pull to the door.
Once opened and cleaned, treat the seating area for the gasket with silicone spray from an auto parts or home improvement store.
I wouldn't spray it on the surface but on a clean rag to wipe the gasket seat; the volatile carrier of the spray may damage some paints or plastics.
My refrigerator does not cool properly
The lowest setting in the freezer compartment may be set to cold holding back cooling to the refrigerator. Try your settings at mid-point on both refrigerator and freezer settings.
Kenmore 73503 - Freezer very cold refrigerator warm.
Check and find out if your fan operates in the freezer. Cold air is heavier than hot air and will settle to the lowest point. The refrigerator not cooling tells me it is not getting the air for cooling which comes from the freezer.
Refrigerator will not cool
Do you mean the display won't go below 70 or that the actual temps won't go below 70? First try to unplug the refer for 20-30 seconds then plug it back in. Hopefully that will reset the levels to factory settings (usually around 0 for freezer and 36 for refer).
Refrigerator won't work after winter shut down at camp
This is a problem we frequently run into in a situation such as yours. Refrigerators are meant to be used in continuous operation. Using them seasonally will let the high side condenser tubing, internal to most cabinets, rust through and loose the refrigerant charge.
Kenmore 73503 Stopped Cooling
Why was the breaker replaced for this circuit in the first place? If it was replaced because it was tripping out the problem may be related to the compressor. In any event the compressor should be covered by warranty. Contact the place of purchase for service.
