My icemaker won't deliver cubes despite switching from crushed to cubes on selector, what's a guy to do

you have to take apart the complete ice maker from inside the freezer as it has to be cleaned on a regular basis to operate properly. check with your owners manual, it tells you how to clean it.the ice cube shoot is the first to freeze up & block your flow of ice. it's not hard to do. all the best.

Compressor will not turn on the kenmore side by side refrigerator

check the start device on the compressor.you'll see a cover with a clip holding it on,unplug the machine, remove the clip and cover, slide the start device off of the compressor,to check it all you have to do is shake the device,if you hear pieces rattling around in it it's bad and you can check it with a meter but if the compressor isn't running, lights are on and fans are working,it will be the start device or the compressor itself.open the fridge door, look up on the right hand wall up near the ceiling and you'll see the model number, call your parts store, give them the model number and they will sell you the correct start device.good luck with your machine.

My refrigerator and freezer stopped working and

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.

Sounds like the cold control has stuck . Unplug the two wires from the cold control and plug them together. Turn one wire over and plug it into the other. away from the cold control.
The cold control is the knob in the ref that turns it on and off and has numbers on it. (Thermostat)
If it runs then that cold control (Thernostat) is the problem.
If that doesn't work DO THIS:
The relay on the compressor may need replaced
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
Thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
also try hooking the two wires together on the cold control to route around the cold control.
Be sure the BACK COVER is in place and hasnt been accidently removed.

Maytag plus mzd2766gew ice maker stopped working

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
The icemaker is 110v
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking or no water at icemaker or door either one, then the valve at the rear bottom of ref needs replacing
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also if it is getting drinking water to the door but not to the icemaker (or vice versa) Then you need to replace
the water valve at the bottom rear of the fridge. It is a double valve and one side is not working
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
WATER SPLASHING IN FREEZER AT ICEMAKER
THE FILL TUBE IN BACK OF REFRIGERATOR CAN SLIP
AGAINST THE FILL RESERVOIR CAUSING A PARTIAL BLOCKAGE
OR BECOME CLOGGED WITH ICE.
REMOVE THE ICEMAKER AND INSPECT THE FILL TUBE.

The crisper can freeze when air leaks around the base of the duct assembly. To prevent this, the air tower will need to be removed (see picture). Disconnect power to the unit first. All the shelves and drawers will need to be removed, to access the tower. With the air tower out, now run a bead of silicone on the floor where the tower sits. Now replace the duct on top of the sealant to make a tight seal and prevent the air leakage.

Water is not coming out

For water not dispensing problem:----------

There possibility is ice blockage in the water fill tube. There is a tube from which the water runs and enters the water dispenser. If this tube is blocked then water will not flow, when you depress the water dispenser paddle. The tube needs to be defrosted, by using hair dryer. This procedure melts the ice collected in the tube and water starts running again. But if water fill tube is completely clear and no ice blockage or any other blockage. Then other possibility is water valve .This water valve is for letting the water. The main water valve the back of the fridge section. This main valve lets the water enter the refrigerator. This water valve is a twin valve. This valve has two tubes in it.One for water dispenser and one for ice maker chamber. The one side of valve is working, but other side of the valve is not working. The valve is got stuck in one position, so ice maker side is working, but water dispenser side is not working.--------

The valve is not a costly part and can be easily replaced.-----------------

Water is pouring from the

Hello,

The reason all the ice freezes together and you see icecicles forming from the icemaker,is going to caused by the water inlet valve on the back of the refrig.is not fully closing but instead it's seeping water through it and dripping into the ice storage bucket. To stop that from happening the water inlet valve would need to be replaced.

On refrigerators that have a built in water filter, alot of times their will be 2 water valves and the one that is bad causing water to seep through it will be the one called the SECONDARY valve.

The freezer has an obvious

Hi Monica,
This seems to be a problem with overflow of water into the ice maker, or a leak in the feeder to the ice maker. My suggestion is to turn off the ice maker by raising the lever on the unit, and see if the ice re-accumulates. This would mean that the water is leaking from the inlet, and the ice maker has no obvious fault. If you find this, you can remove the ice maker from the freezer by removing the screws holding it to the inside, unplug the unit from the back of the freezer, and pull straight out. Look at the inlet of the water at the rear of the freezer and see if there is a break in the line or a crack somewhere along it. You can replace it from the back of the refrigerator itself, going from the bottom where the water is hooked up to the top by removing the panel that guards it.
I hope this isn't too confusing.
