Make sure you not get any water in the grinder, if you got water in the grinder then you have to clean it.

You can try to set grinding to coarse and try to make 3 cup of coffee.

First, I'm NOT a Saeco technician, But I have worked on similar machines. Sounds like your pulling too large a puck (doing a double shot with a lot of coffee instead of pulling two separate shots.) * Grounds may be too large and taking up too much space for the group to compress properlly. You have to remove the coffee bean hopper, there are two screws on it. Below it is the grinder and there must be a rubber seal between them. Perhaps it is crooked or broken, and then the coffee beans pass and fall down.

turn the hot water / steam knob on to 'ventilate' the pressure from the machine. The ventilate /overtemperature message will disappear when ready (few seconds usually)

Hi The loud clicking noise is a broken brew drive. This usually happens when you use the pre-ground button but put more than the level scoop into the brew unit. The brew unit can't compress the coffee and jams the brew unit which breaks the drive gears. Drive gears have to be replaced. I have some drive units complete.

Couple of things.

Magnet in the water tank could have gone bad in which case you need a new water tank.

2. Sensor for the magnet could have gone bad. Which case you need a new sensor.

3. Flowmeter could be dead in which case it won't feed water to the system, If thats the case its a new flowmeter.

4. Pump. If the pumps not working, it won't feed the flowmeter, which in turn won't feed the system. You'd need a pump in this case.


Its one of the 4. Unfortunately its not an exact science, its a trial by error type thing.

Cheapest way is to send it to a service center. They'll know right away when they open it up. They can also diagnose quicker.

easiest thing to do is put it outside to dry or use a blow drier to dry it up, it should be ok

generally when the pump wont prime this means you have to take the machine in to see a tech. with that being said, do you have the newelectronx 102? might be needed in case we need to open saeco. but lets try this first, your grind settings is too fine for the beans and machine combination. i would suggest go two notches coarser. then brew four times to clear through the mixture of the old and new grind settings. make sure your beans arent to oily. and do a weekly cleaning
