How to replace light bulb

Hello, W/D here.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, the internet crashed, and I had to look at a few things, just to be sure.
It turns out that your oven lamp replacement is very close to an Advantium lamp replacement.
You have to remove the microwave from the wall cabinet, and remove the sheet metal surround. Then, you can access the bulb for replacement. The part # for the bulb is # 4375348 (whirlpool). These are available at Lowe's, H/Depot, or any appliance parts supply store.

I have an Advantium, and after two replacements, I cut a hole in the sheet metal, and fitted a metal "peep-hole" somewhat larger than I needed to get to the screws holding the bulb, and I screwed the cover plate down to the sheet metal. The result was that I wound up being able to slide the microwave out about 6" and change the bulb as opposed to having to remove the entire microwave from the cabinet holding it.
Hope that this is just what you needed.
Respectfully yours, --W/D--
Please feel free to rate this solution! Thanks.

Microwave makes a buzzing sound

The magnetron may have either failed or is not being supplied with the extremely high voltage required to run it.
Make sure the !!!!capacitor is discharged!!!!! before attempting any sort of repair.
Check the door interlock switches first then the high voltage diode with either an AVO model 8 on high resistance range for short circuit, the feed fuse on the primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally, the magnetron is best checked by substitution.
Hope that helps.

Light and door spring

I had a tension rod break in my door as well. There are two of them that cross forming an X and you can see them when you open the door and look in the crack. Fixing them is very easy once you get the outer panel w/ glass and the black molded plastic piece off. WARNING, when you open the door there are two screw on the inside top part of the door assembly. THEY ARE THE ONLY TWO SCREWS HOLDING THE ENTIRE FRONT PANEL/GLASS ASSEMBLY IN PLACE. I found this out the hard way. When the 2nd screw disengaged the whole assembly came crashing down shattering the glass and nearly cut off my toe. Be very careful when taking off the outside panel!!!

Next challenge...the black molded piece that also needs to come off. To remove this take off the piece that surrounds the exhaust tube to get at two screws that are directly underneath the molded plastic piece. After getting that off you have access to the two rod and can get them installed without to much trouble.

Again, be very careful when removing the front panel. My repair went from an 18 dollar tension rod to a $200 dollar front panel and nearly cost me a toe (yes, I was barefoot).

The light is out in the mircrowave and it does not

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch or a loose door switch mount, which are pretty simple problems to fix.

Our file on door switches is here.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

Also at our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

If you don't find yours, or if you want to look at it without disassembling the oven, you can download it here.

Lightbulb burned out for microwave model # KHMS

Most home improvement stores and even some Walmarts/Chain grocery stores/Ace Hardware carry replacements. You will need to remove the cover from the microwave oven on most models unless your bulb is inside a protective cover inside the actual oven. Take the bulb with you when you go to make certain of a proper match. Be certain to unplug the oven if you need to remove the cover in any case.

Changing microwave light bulb

Check the owner's manual to see if yours is a model which allows access to the lights without pulling it down from the wall.

Accessing the lights on some models will require you to remove the oven from the wall.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download owner's manuals and installation instructions for several brands (including Amana, Frigidaire, Jenn-Air, Kitchenaid, Litton, Maytag, Roper, Tappan, Thermador and Whirlpool) here.

Most bulbs can be matched up at hardware stores, home improvement centers, and places like Wal-Mart or even large grocery stores.

Many use halogen lamps. You must not touch the new one with your bare skin, as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

Replace the bulb in Panasonic microvave Model nn s 768ba

Hi all,

I have just replaced the bulb in my Panasonic NNA873 Dimension 4.

Please be careful, although it was an easy job, there is a capacitor inside which stores heavy loads of power and will release the electricity into you if you touch it!

YOU CANNOT REPLACE THE BULB FROM INSIDE THE MICROWAVE....... DO NOT REMOVE THE CARDBOARD-STYLE COVERING WHICH IS ATTACHED WITH ONE SCREW INSIDE THE MICROWAVE ON THE RIGHT.

To replace bulb will take 5 minutes.

UNPLUG microwave. Remove the outer cover by unscrewing about 6 screws (ordinary phillips) don't lose them into the workings.......

Bulb is located on the right side, nearer to the front. You cannot see the glass of the bulb, only the black plastic end piece, as the bulb sits upside down and vertically. Best if you check out what a T170 looks like on the internet, then you will know what you are looking for. For my Panasonic I needed a T170 (but be careful, they have different ends, some are straight, some right angled - mine was right angled - check before you buy and no, I don't think you can get them from any ordinary supermarket etc!!). Do not touch the bulb when replacing as the oil on your fingers will shorten its life.

Old bulb can be removed by taking out one screw and then pulling off the connectors - there is a little tab to push down to ease them off.

Then simply replace bulb!

When putting cover back on make sure all the tabs on top and sides go inside not outside casing.

Good luck. This is an easy job, just don't poke around anywhere else.
