Blade installation
i had the same problem and i fixed mine ( it is not broken) ... the tongue is the thing that is silver and has grooves that face upward, the tongue should be up compared to pressed against the shave, take a small screw driver or a kitchen knife and get under the tongue and lift it up, once this is done you need to slide it on the blades and snap it down, i found that i did not need to have the clippers on to put it back on.... at first i got confused in thinking that the tongue was the red thing at the top, and in actuality this is the thing that moves the blades to clip.... i hope this helps, once you get the tongue up the blades are on in 10 seconds...

I need help!!!
if you have a single speed (on off) clipper, it should only have 2 wires which go on either way. If you have a 2 speed (off low high) clipper there should be 3 wires, and they must go on exactly as they were. you won't blow anything up if you wire it wrong you just wont have 2 speeds . . just keep turning them around till you get it right.
I'm looking for an owners manual for Oster electric knife and scissor sharpener model 522
eBay sale item may be similar to yours with a manual:https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-OSTER-Double-Action-Electric-Knife-Sharpener-W-Manual-USA-Model-522-/153587369882For link below, registration is required, and I have not personally registered to verify it. Apparently a 1950's device that may need to be serviced or replaced. https://free-downloads.online/7711-0-c5e0c2f6/signup-blitz/#/theme=dark/c_bg={c_bg_enc}/z=51155/dp=2906786074.538571.44fa3ae453.33665.1c1e01e67e064c41c94abed63baaec57/q=Oster+knife+sharpener+manual/
Where can I view the wiring diagram for my vintage knife and scissor sharpener Oster model522
It is unlikely you will find a wiring diagram for an old model. It should be a simple wiring where the plug wires split and one goes to a switch and then from the switch a wire goes to the motor. The other plug wire goes to the motor. The unit probably doesn't have a polarized plug, so no need to know which side of the plug wire goes to the switch and which goes to the motor.
