Rival 3355 5-Quart - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Do I add water between ceramic bowl & metal.
Never!!! You should have an Owner's Manual for this product, be sure to read it carefully. At any rate, you should "never' add anything to the metal part of your slow cooker it is designed only for ingrediants to be put in the ceramic bowl.

What is the cooking time for "slow" and "fast"
The cooking time depends on what your cooking. In general there is a 3 to 4 hour difference between slow and fast. If your cooking poultry make sure to check the meat with a thermometer until you get the hang of it.

Replacement for the crock pot insert for model 3355
I found a phone number embossed on the crockpot. It's the number to Rival. I called them and they said I could get a new insert ($10 + $8.50 ship), but prewsently out of stock. Should be available in about a month.

Lid
Are you still looking for a lid? I have a crockpot (Rival 5 quart, round, white with Ivy, model 3355). The handles for this crockpot cracked and fell off. I still have the glass lid and green crock insert, which are in excellent shape. Let me know if you are interested. Regards from Michigan ~ Kathy C.
