Retractable cord
Don't be in such a rush to repair your Rowena when the cord won't retract. Simply spray the opening with silicone spray and wait 20 minutes. Hit the retract button and VOILA!!!!!

Rowenta Iron doesn't heat up
Hi,
The problem would be the contact points and setting of the heater!
u have to open the iron and check, adjust, and clean the bi-metal thermostat or the heater core!

I GET NO HEAT IT JUST STOPPED
U got a busted thermal fuse or the thermostat switch is not functioning.
If u have a knowhow in replacing and adjusting the thermal switch, u could fix it by urself!
Better check also the power cord, mostly flat irons main prob, if there are no lights on ur iron, it means internal probs!
Better take that iron in ur friendly hungry technician to fix that!

Rowenta DM-880 steam button sticks. Spray button
It is possible that there is dirt that has accumulated into the stem of the steam button and is sticking the button. It is better to remove the lid and make a good cleaning to free the movement. use good spray of jet air, use WD40 to remove dirt and free
This will work for sure.

Need to know best way to clean; inside &
It depends on what "gunk" is on it.
If you've been using the iron for doing laminate adhesive (contact cement) you would need to use lacquer thinner.
If it's just dirty from common household ironing duties you could use baking soda and vinegar.
Apply with a q-tip,or with the iron unplugged, you could fill a shallow pan with the solution and carefully lower the bottom of the iron into it.
For baking soda/vinegar use approx 1 tsp powder to 1/2 cup vinegar.
For the inside of the iron use straight vinegar.
Pour vinegar into the water fill hole, shake gently, let sit for about 10 minutes, then rinse with water. Hope this helps.
