Pulsar (Seiko) Watch Changes Date at different time.

mcdevito75 here, The manufacturer recommends you don"t try to change the date between certain hours as this could hurt the date changeing mechanism inside the watch, I don"t think you did any harm (LUCKY) and the date changeing 45 minutes before mid nite is just about right. BUT! if the date change was aliitle closer to mid nite at 1 time you can try to reset the date, here"s how, your stem should have 2 positions to change the date without haveing to cycle the watch the 24 hours 60 times. Slip a finger nail just under the crown and gently, gently lift the crown to it:s first position, it may take a little practise but you"ll get it, once you do, trun the crown and you should see the DATE change, if so set the DATE to 1 DATE before the DATE you want, now pull the stem out and set the correct gate and time of day. Your watch is now reset and date will change on time, around nid nite.

When I started wearing the watch it would stop at

If it's a quartz watch, replace the battery. If it's a mechanical watch, even a "self-winding" model, wind it manually - unless you're very active it needs a manual winding if you don't wear it all the time. If it's more than a few years old it may need cleaning by a watchmaker.

Pulsar watch s/n 462596 takes what battery

Best advice. Tip & How-To about Watches Changing Watch Batteries Lots of posters ask "what is the battery in my (name of watch)" with a view to changing it yourself. This is a bad idea for many reasons. You don't have the tools or knowledge to remove a rotary screw on back, or the gasket sealant for a waterproof watch. Some fashion watches have 4 traditional screw and need professional grade jeweler screwdrivers. Also, there are about 20 batteries commonly used in watches, in various sizes and internal technology, Lithium Ion, Silver Oxide and Manganese Alkaline. If you buy them, you generally have to buy 10! Don't sweat the details. Just take the watch to your local jeweler. They have all the batteries at hand and the tools to remove the back. It is done whilst you wait for $8 to $15!
