Stuck at BIOS password in my Thinkpad
The laptop cannot decide by itself to ask for a password. It was set by the owner. Ask around you to see if anybody admits doing it. Or take the computer to a Lenovo service center to have the password removed. Be ready to show proof of ownership. Be ready to pay foe the service if the laptop is no longer under warranty.Out of curiosity: have tried contacting Lenovo support?
Im locked out of my laptop....Its not that i
If it's a bios based (one you get before you see windows loading) then you will need to remove the cmos battery from the motherboard not something you want to try if your inexperienced with laptops. This is probably why they want to charge you so much. A local computer store may do it cheaper. If it's a windows password then letting us know the OS would be benificial
Cant turn on
Hi
U check whether power supply coming from the terminal or not.. if its coming then u check whether SMPS fan rotating or not.. If its not rotating means u have to change ur SMPS unit.. If that also rotating means u wont do anything.. Because next steps are complicated and risky.. Check whether the system under warranty or not.. If its warranty means u ask help from the warranty providers..

Restart your computer
During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or F2 key
this will vary depending on your computer and operating system
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
this will set the boot order

Sounds like problems with software. Can you boot to safe mode, enter power option settings and turn off the standby mode to test this?
If this fails, and you can access the Bios, check the hibernation/ power settings in there. i think there is an option to adjust the behaviour on reboot.
Failing that, and if you can find another hard drive, test the laptop using that one. It may be a fault with the hard drive being damaged and preventing booting. Also check the ram by swapping it out.
After that, I'd suggest getting another hard drive or re-installing windows on the old one, you can do an over the top install (saves existing files) if the info on the drive is important. to do this, wait until the installation prompts you to look for an existing installation of windows and repair at that point.
If none of the above, you have a hardware fault, that may be caused by a faulty switch (check the on / off switch is not sticking), or a fault on the motherboard
