Check and secure the hard drive to make sure that the jolt did not mess up the connection to the mo bo. Then go into the bios to make sure that the drive is being recognized. If not recognized then you will get no boot up and it is possible it may have been damaged via the drop. To confirm hard drive condition remove it and plug it into any desk top computer and see if it is recognized. If so perhaps the mo bo got damaged.

There is no standard meaning to any Fn +Fx key combinations. It depends on the manufacturer and the laptop model. Usually the Fn key works in combination with the Function (Fn) keys F1-F12, and maybe ESC. In my Toshiba, there is an overlaid numeric pad that can be activated by pressing Fn +F11. Once the sequence is pressed the F11 key led remains lit, and the overlay active. Pressing the F11 key restores the normal keyboard. Fn+Num Lock does not do anything. Please check you laptop's manual to familiarize yourself with the uses of the Fn key on YOUR computer.

You do not need to use an underscore character in writing. Just use the "format" option in whatever word processing software you are using and that will underscore a word/words that you select. If you are not using word processing but are writing to a .txt file, you will be unable to do this, because formatting - including underscored characters - is not an option.
