1984 Honda VT 500 C Shadow "stalls" Questions

...is sitting on the stand with new gas new plugs cleanedout carberator new petcock kit and still it stalls why? dirty fuel filter or fuel pump not working,check that fuses are good.check for fuel ...

My 86 shadow vt500 was running perfect I stopped n filled it up with 93 octane. I normally use 87 but I figured it would be good for it n all of a sudden it started backfiring n evn stalled out on me.
