My engine oil was changed by the RV dealer where I bought he 2007 Winnebago View with a 5 cylinder diesel. The oil is "black" and not clear like I am used too. Is that normal? Also if I have to add oil between changes what oil do I add??? Don Strand

15000kms is a lot of mileage and i would expect it to burn some oil in this period ,i would suggest that oil is changed every 6000kms with a oil filter every third oil change ,use the cheapest oil you can buy from supermarket for a petrol/turbo diesel engine and you will never have problems with the internal workings of the engine caused by clagging up of black hard carbon

Is this a diesel? I just changed my oil and oil filter. You have to remove the plastic engine top cover first and you will see the oil filter in the front right. Black with hex nut on top (my 1 1/4 AF socket fitted). You have to disconnect the bracket holding some wiring. Pull the wiring forward to access the nut on top of the filter. Undo and remove/replace filter.
Under the car you will find a small hatch in the underside plastic cover held in place by three 10 mm bolts. Remove this to access the 19 mm drain plug. Drain old oil and refill with 4 ltrs 5/30 fully synthetic. Top up if necessary after running engine but DO NOT overfill.
The fuel filter is on the bulkhead at the back of the engine on the right side. I wont be changing that for a while!

Blue smoke means that the cylinder is burning oil with gas/diesel. White smoke means that the engine is cold and excess fuel is being burnt. It means that the cylinder is having worn out rings.They need a change. Also check the engine oil level as well. It may be going low gradually.

Oh yes indeed. Block sealer will plug it up, but then it will plug EVERTHING up. Not a good idea to go the block sealer rout my friend. Most likely a head gasket needs replaced BUT, before you do ANYTHING else pal, most likely it has an oil cooler in the system on the block somewhere. Pull that oil cooler and pressure test it to see if that is where coolant is getting into the oil. I've been there Bro, and that's just what it was. Luck toya Bud.

follow the manual.
but if the dealer has recommended the lower grade, and you want to save cost use it. just make sure that its in black and white that they recommended the lower grade.
