SOURCE: Starter relay is clicking and
Your solenoid clicks when you push the starter button, therefore the starter button is good. Jump the two terminal posts on the starter solenoid together, This will send power directly to your starter. If your starter now works you have a bad starter solenoid. Next, hold the starter button and tap on the starter with a plastic hammer, if the starter works now you have bad starter brushes. If something is burnt or damaged inside the starter causing it not to work you will have to replace the starter assembly since the internal parts are not available from Yamaha (except for the brushes).
