There is no reason the shop would have touched this nut to change a tyre, so it may be coincidence it had rattled loose.unless they did other work like head bearing adjustment

It may help to loosen the top triple clamp pinch bolts.
Check the steering head bearings for play, as the lock nut may have loosened as well.
cant help with exact torque, but tighten it fairly well with out going crazy on it

How to tell if neck bearing on suzuki gsxr 750 slingshot needs replacement and or adjustment

I would start at the top of the front assembly and work down. The easiest way to check for a loose or damaged head stock bearing is to put the bike up on the centre stand, have someone push down on the rear taking all weight off the front tire, and push the tire assembly in and out. There should be absolutely no play in the wheel assembly or headstock. The drop may have backed the head stock nut off just enough to loosen the assembly. I would also check to make sure there isn't a slight bend in the front rim.Check the brake caliper for clearance and don't rule out the tire it might have damage you can't see.You may have even bent the front axle slightly. This might explain why you only feel it slowing down or turning.Good luck

Dont know how to remove and install front wheel on gmc denali road bike 700c

If the wheel has nuts (not bolts) on each side you just need to loosen each one enough to remove the wheel.

How to replace front shocks on 1995 Chevrolet K1500

The bottom mount is easy. It isn't easy to get the top. If you can get vice grips on the flat at the top of the stem where the nut holds the shock to the a arm and get the nut off consider yourself lucky. If you can get the nut loosened enough to get a blade in there you can use a sawzall/reciprocating saw to cut the shock below the nut and it will drop right out when the bottom mount is removed.

When I takemy front tire off I cant get it back on as my disc brake will not go into the groove? How do I loosen the groove for th edisc to fit in? I have a specialized crosstrail 2010.

The only loosening mechanism should be the quick release, you should have your bike upside down, and place the wheel aligned into the shocks before you insert the quick release pin and nut.

How do I adjust the steering head bearing from a 2008 HD road king classic

Jack bike so front wheel is off the ground.
Push handlebar to left until front end starts to continue turn by itself.
When it hits the fork stop (rubber bumper), it should bounce to the right, fall back to the left, then bounce right one more time before stopping, somewhere around the center position.

Remove headlight nacelle.
Remove steering stem nut (on top of top triple clamp).

Under the top triple clamp is a star adjuster ring.
Tighten to decrease swing (tightening bearings).
Loosen to increase swing (loosening bearings).

Reinstall steering stem nut (60-80 ft/lbs).
Reinstall headlight nacelle.

How do I adjust the rear suspension on my 2001 deuce? I need to to be stiffer than it is. I Bottom is out here and there when I'm riding 2 up.

There are two "shocks" underneath the bike. You need to loosen a large nut on each, and turn the shocks on the threaded rod an equal distance on each. You will need a special spanner for the turning the shocks I believe.
You have to get right down flat on the ground and look under the bike between the frame rails in front of the rear tire and you'll see them.

Need to replace front and rear shocks on a jeep wrangler

Easy, Quick and fun.
spray all the bolts with P.B. Blaster. wait a day or so....spray them again....wait.
Lift and secure the vehicle, Remove the front tires....
Loosen all the bolts carefully.
remove the  old and replace with new.
The front top shaft is tricky if the nut won't loosen easily.
I cut off mine with a hack saw because depending on the type  on shocks on there you won't be able to loosen the nut as the complete shaft turns
and  is enclosed in the shock body etc
The back is easier in that there are two bolts on top and two on bottom.
Good Luck
