SOURCE: Engine compression for 2002 125 CR Honda, 125lbs?

that sounds pretty decent, it is 7 years old so there will be less compression now than when new, obviously beacuse of wear. but 125lbs is good.

SOURCE: Honda CR 125 1997 wont idle

Your carberautor is either gummed up or needs to be adjusted. Begin by going to an auto zone or similar store and gatting a can of carb. cleaner that gets added to your gas. Be sure to follow the instructions on how much you add per gallon. let that run through your bike for a while and see where you are. If cleaning the carb. doesn't hellp, then the carb. will have to be adjusted.

SOURCE: how to change throttle cable on 2005 rm 125

The carburator end...you will need to remove the seat and gas tank. The top of the carb will turn off counter clockwise, then you can pull the "slide" up out of the carburator. Note which is the front for re-assemble. There is a spring between the slide and cap, and look into the slide to see if your cable clips in, or may have a phillips screw and plate to remove to get the cable free. I use needle nose pliers to hold the spring back to remove and replace the cable.
The throttle end is easier. Remove the plastic cap and unthread the adjusting worm nut. The cable end "ball" will come out with the help of needle nose pliers also. Pull the cable slack up to rotate the "ball" out of the throttle tube.
Hope this helps!

SOURCE: my hondA CR 125 2002 has a throttle problem, when

Two things: First make sure there is some free play in the throttle cable. The twist grip should have a small amount of free-play, just a fraction of a turn, before the throttle actually begins to open. On the throttle cable, up near the handlebar, is a free-play adjuster.
Second, verify that the throttle cable is routed correctly. Confirm this by referring to the owner's manual for your Honda.
Both of these items are absolutely critical for correct and safe operation.

Idle adjustment screw location

If you look at where the throttle cable connects to the carb, the cable will be attached to a throttle cam. there should be a screw that limits the return of this cam, that is your base idle screw.

Hope this is of some help.
