I am renewing the cam chain tensioners on my vtr 1000, and would like to know wether the timing can be upset through this procedure. Can i just remove the old tensioners and install the new ones and the job is done.Or do i have to check if the timing has moved???
yours hopefully

I replaced mine on my cbr f1 with a salvaged one... a couple of bolts and it took me 20 minutes with fairings off. it was a good thing i replaced it, because the old one was worn down really bad, and its was wobbly. I heard that if you use an aftermarket and you don't know what your doing you could cause damage. can i get some feedback, thanks
DO NOT just replace the tensioners without setting the cam timing as not doing so will let the cam chain jump the crank sprocket.
And refit manual tensioners, as Honda ones fail.
