I am thinking your rings must be worn. As long as the oil is correct weight,and valves are set correctly, then that is what you are looking at

Additives will not stop your smoking issues but might end up damaging your valves if your rings are worn, Ametech will say that it doesn't damage your engine or exhaust but they are assuming you engine is in good working order (worn rings will allow oil and additives into the combustion chamber in very small amounts at every rotation) i would have to say try lucas oil stabilizer until you can change your rings and rebuild.
