You dont need more gas through the valve. unless all out racing, that shouldn't be a problem. you definately need rejetting. the proper jet size can only be determined by trial and era. you need a dyno to tune properly. but of the head I would say start with 10 sizes over what you had. say if they were #120's, go with #130's. this should get you in the right direction.

HI JERRY
HOW IS THE FLOW DOWN FROM THE TANK OR FUEL FILTER
MAY NEED TO CHANGE FUEL FILTER OR CHANGE FUEL LINES OR TANK VALVE BECAUSE USING FULL CHOKE SUCKS THE FUEL AS HARD AS THE BIKE CAN TO GET FUEL THROUGH THE SMALL LINES LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU FIND OR DON'T FIND

Hesitates and backfires

hi the air box and exhaust restrict the air movement through the cyclinders to match the jets in the carbs. i have bikes that you can remove baffles or airbox with no problem, others are so finely tunes that it is impossible to run the bike without the restriction. the easy option would be to get a jet and air filter kit. then if you need to restrict air flow any (hopefully you wont need to) you could very slightly raise the inlet/outlet valve gaps to the maximum amount which will open the valves for a slightly shorter time. you could also restrict the exhaust by using large washers on the exhaust gaskets. similar to those used to restrict a bike.

The Bike was running fine then I removed the air box to install a set of pod air filters and now the bike wont run, are the carbs needing to be adjusted to compensate for not having the original air box?

my goodness kids do your research. carbs mix air and gas very specifically. any change in air intake will mean you also need to adjust the flow of gas in carbs. even if you use an aftermarket filter in the original air box it will still change the amount of air going to the carb, it might not be as drastic as a pod filter but it is still a change. you will probably need to change the main jets in your carburetor as well as play with the air/fuel mixture setting screw.

great news you can only win with this. i bet if you pull a spark plug and look at it, it will be white or close to it. if so your motor is lean, it's not get the right amount of gas. when you put pipes on a bike it lets more air flow and you need to jet your carb. you local bike shop can help you get a jet kit and handle the install if needed. when done right you get more performance out of it. while you are look into jets get a high flow air filter or look into a hyper charger they come a jet kit, k&n air filter and the air scoop price isn't bad rsports.com/wps/Honda_OEM/HondaMC.asp?Type=13&A=474&B=25

Changed the air box for pod filters and now the bike seems to run out of gas under hard acceleration do i need a bigger fuel valve? anyone else have this prob

You need to re-jet your carburetors to compensate for the increased air flow. The bike is starving for fuel because the carburetors are jetted for the air box. Typically you would need to change the pilot jet and adjust the a/f mixture on the carbs. You didn't specify if your carbs were stock or modified so I am including a link for you that can guide you through the process. In the meantime, if your bike is a daily rider, put the stock air boxback on until you can re-jet the carburetor. Here is the link: http://www.dynoman.net/carb/pdf/mikRS-access.pdf
