SOURCE: where is the battery on a 2004 honda shadow vt600?
It is located underneath the seat.
You remove the right hand plastic cover under the seat and you will see another cover which holds relays and stuff. If you remove that too you will see the battery.

It is different then most other carbs. DON"T DRILL ANY BRASS HEADS LOOKING FOR THE AIR FUEL MIXTURE. The air fuel mixture is the only adjustment you can make. It is located on the bottom side of the air intake, right behind the air filter box. It looks like a 1/4" flat metal plug. Do NOT drill this. There is no slot for a screw driver. There is a tool which is no more then a small piece of pipe that fits over this plug and you turn it in till seated, gently. Count the turns. Back out to 2 and a half turns, thats normal. Or if you no that you need more fuel injected, simply turn the screw OUT 1/4 or 1/2 turn and try it. GOOD LUCK (Its not hard)
There is no drilling to be done. Hope i didnt scew something up on mine......
SOURCE: how do i install saddlebags on a 2007 honda shadow
I've got a 2007 Shadow and recently put on a set of saddlebags. What you do is use a large allen wrench or star wrench on the seat strap to take out those two bolts, and then you slide the seat towards the back of the bike (or perhaps you need to slide it to the front, I forget, its just the "picture-hanging" connection, <=0 is the shape of the hole on the seat, and on the bike beneath it is a peg, with the seat hole large enough to slide the peg through, but once you shift the seat to its natural position the head of the peg is at a place too narrow to come off, hence the sliding motion to remove it) . Then it is smooth sailing, just lay your saddlebags over the peg with the seat removed, and try and put the seat back without disrupting the bags too much, which can be hard since its a pretty snug fit. Hopefully that helped, I don't know if the request was talking about post market support frames or something

You probably have some gelled gas in the carbs. Take off the fuel line going into the carbs and spray some carb cleaner directly into the bowls. This may take care of a minor clog. If this does not work , you will have to take the carbs off and clean the slow jets and slow circuit passageways before the bike will idle normally again.
