Which of the three oils??? For engine :

For cold engine oil level inspection have the motorcycle leaning on its jiffy stand on level ground, pull out the dipstick which is right behind the cam cover and the oil should register between the add and full marks DO NOT add oil if it is at the halfway point from add to full marks on the dipstick. Only add oil when cold if it VERY low. THE warm the engine to operating temperature and then let it idle on the jiffy stand for two minutes on level ground and turn the engine off and check the oil. Add oil only to just below the FULL mark. DO NOT fell over the FULL mark or you may encounter all sorts of problems.

SOURCE: capacity of primary oil on a 01 dyna wideglide

Three quarts. Check the oil level with the bike on the side stand. The dipstick has two marks on it. The top mark is "Full Hot" and the lower mark is "Full Cold". Maintain the oil level between the two lines. Do not overfill.

What oil viscosity to use in 2001 dyna wideglide

Harley's 20w50 conventional and Syn 3 synthetic oils are both great. Syn 3 can also be used in the primary and transmission. If using conventional oil in the engine, use Harley's Formula + in the primary and trans.

Do u check trany on side stand r upright on 2001 dyna wide glide

Check the oil level in the transmission with the bike standing as straight up as safely possible. Don't let it fall over. The oil level should be between the two marks on the dipstick. Your transmission holds 20-24 ounces of oil. Check the engine oil with the bike on the sidestand and keep the oil level between the two marks on the stick. Avoid "topping off" the oil tank. As long as the level is between the two lines, it's fine.

What type of oil for my 2001 dyna low rider?

Your Dyna came with H-D Syn 3 synthetic engine oil 20W50 weight from the factory. There are other manufacturers that make oil suitable for use in your Harley. Amsoil. Royal Purple, Golden Spectro, RevTech, and Mobil just to name a few. Check their websites to find out which of their products they recommend for use in your machine.

What is the primary oil reserve

Not sure if I understand the question. If you are asking how much oil goes into the primary on a Dyna Wide Glide, the answer is 36 to 42 ounces. Do not overfill or the clutch will drag.

The "check engine light" on my 2001 Dyna Super Glide has been coming on intermittenly. I have about 17,500 total miles. Oil, filter, and tune up about 5 months/500 miles ago. Oil level fine.

The check engine light comes only when the computer control unit senses a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system, dozens of faults turn the light on, to know what has developed a problem you must have the system tested using s scanner

Add transmission fluid to 2001 Harley dyna low rider

the tranny plug is behind the oil spout its usually a big allen head bolt. You should use a quality oil like AMSOIL 20W50 motorcycle oil or AMSOIL gear oil. I have the 20W50 in mine and really like the benifit of not having a pultrolium product in my bike. You can get the AMSOIL online a http://hbsynlube.com/sales. You'll beglad you changed it.
