Firing order Yamaha 600R 2004

gee the service manual covers all that and lots more.
RTM?
600r what?
yzf600r (4 cylinders this is)
motorcycle right, not scootes or quad tracks right
2 cylinders or more sure.
order, do you mean timing spark or cam timing or what?
what are you doing now, a goal a problem so we can be on the same page,? cam?

if doing your own work, on any machine why not own and have a shop manual service.
first time it works for you the manual is free, called ROI
most 4 bangers, made (non boxer) have wasted spark.
and fire 2 at these same time , one is compression TDC>
other is exhaust stroke ,even done on my 1975,CB750 relic.
none boxer firing order is a standard.
1,3,4,2, (wasted spark first 1+4 then 3 +2)
this is set i the crank shaft rod throw order , fixed)
my guess is this is a cam timing question, but not told
to make it harder?
THE DEALER HAS THE MANUAL ,ORDER IT.
OR PAY ONLINE FOR IT.
IF DOING CAM TIMING GEE READ IT FIRST
DO NOT BEND VALVES ON ANY INTERFERENCE ENGINE

I WARNED YOU.
NEXT TIME TELL THE JOB AT AND AND MAKE IT 10X MORE EASY. THANKS.

I have a Kawasaki GPX 600R there's some noise coming from the cam chain. Someone told me that a few gentle bangs on the tensioner would fix it. Is this true or its better to change the tension

how many miles, if cam chain they are about 80 quid maybe less or more, and this needs to be donwe right mate, or bent valves, it could be tensioner if low miles, so a billet one on ebay. they bolt on at the rear of the engine, low down the barrels external. a billet tensioner is about 50 quid, I might know someone who can make one, he does my suzuki ones, where are you. us uk?

Hi got 2003 316i will not start and there is a poping sound coming from the air intake it was very low on engine oil topped up been told the timming chain has jumped is that right if so can you send me a...

I have been fixing cars for 40 yrs and unless the chain adjusters are well worn they do not jump ,i have seen engine with 500,000 miles on them and they run abeit a bit noisey but they run ,if anything these engine are hydraulic tappets and this could be your problem but then it would have to run with no oil in the engine and the big ends would be clanking as well ,if the oil light didnt come on then i dont think you have damaged anything although the tappets might sound a bit tappety as this is furthest from the oil pump but bringing the oil up to level should cure this unless the cams run dry and this only happened with the old ford cortina with the OHC engine ,As for timing marks no idea but a quick check is to remove the no1 plug and use a long thin screwdriver and bring pist to to top then look at the cams on no1 and they should be pointing up and outwards then look for the timing marks some engines use a slot on the rear of the cams thats normally level with the head except the VW diesel its at a angle of 20? .Cannot honestly see the timing chain jumping though unless the adjuster is worn away but it would be clattering like mad when it was running

Hello Camron, i would not recommend the hot wire procedure. If you spike the controller it could do a lot of damage. Plus the stator & rectifier are not working properly. You can replace the ignition switch, that comes with 2 new keys cheaper than a locksmith will make one, in most cases. Here are a couple of links for ignition switches that will fit your bike.
I hope this helps.

I have bought a 1994 RF 900 with 25000 miles on clock. Goes well but makes very unhealthy sounding rattle at low revs. Sounds like a lose cam chain or similar noise. Can I ignore it or does it need...

If the cam chain is loose and it jumps, the bill could streach to hundreds. Whereas the bill for a mechanic would be much cheaper. Better safe than sorry.
Dealers will charge more than a local mechanic so try them first.

Hi. Suzuki rf600r 1993. Cam chain rattle. Does this require new cam chain or can it be adjusted without dismantling. Is tensioner automatic. cheers Tony Fuff.

a 93 model is likely to need a chain and tensioner, if you undo the tensioner mounting bolts it should spring out 10-15mm

I have a trouble code of P0340...i changed the camshaft position sensor the vehicle still shows this code...and won't start what's my problem..and how do i solve it..no other codes show up on the OBDII....

On that model,it could be the timing chain has jumped,or broke. If this is so,you need a mechanic to replace the timing chain,it is a deep job.Take the cam shaft sensor back off.Look in at the cam,and have someone crank the engine over and over, and see if the cam is turning. If the cam is turning, this will tell you the timing chain is not broke. But it does not tell you if the chain has jumped.Lining the crank at top dead center, and looking at the cam reluctor will. The cam reluctor will line up with the cam sensor pretty much perfect. If this checks out, then make sure the reluctor has not come loose or is missing. If I can help let me know.
