Starts easy wont rev at all

Yamaha 82 virago 750 Float bowl is spotless floats set at carb body split no holes in diaphram new needles everything clean. Bike starts very easy. wams up fast ( close enricher after 15 -30 seconds) If you blip the throttle it stalls .if you try to slowly roll the trottle it stalls. If I open the float bowl drain screw a quarter turn on each carb I can blip the trottle "a little bit" but it wont rev at all. Someone said to check the tci.....If I dont have a known good one, how can I check it? could that be the problem?

2003 yamaha yfz450 float setting, how to set float on a dirt bike. i would like to know inches

The float hight does not change it is preset at the factory, but if someone messed with it set it parrel with the carb body. While your at it replace the needle and seat ,check the floats for a hole in them, check to make sure the drain on the float bowl is snug.I suspect that you need a new needle and seat.

Gas pouring out of overflow tube, gas in crank case

Definitely a carb. clean problem. Gas is more than 6 months old & has float needle stuck. Clean carbs. & always replace the float needle valve assy\'s & bowl gaskets. There is nothing you can put in the gas tank to clean carb correctly.

How do I clean the carborator?

Remove carb from mower. Use carb cleaner and small acid brush to clean outside of carb. Remove bowl from bottom of carb. Clean bowl. Observe bolt that held carb bowl to carb, see if it has a hole or holes thru it. Clean out holes with bread wrapper wire with about 1in of wire. Test float, float down fuel flow, float up fuel stops. Use bread wrapper to clean center port of carb from bottom up thru carb body. Remove float pin float and meter needle, use bread wrapper to clean meter needle passage up thru carb body. Re-assemble carb.
Honda carbs can be purchased new for $14 - $27.

2005 Kawi 750 Vulcan, 2500 miles. If I don't shut

Yes you have two float bowls, the carbs on your model is actually one set but they split in half, there is a needle and seat in each chamber and I would say that you likely have something caught in the needle and seats. I attached a diaphragm.

Carburettor float level setting

Usually if the float is adjustable you will set it so if there is a flat surface on top or side of the float it will be parallel with the bottom surface of the carb body when the needle valve just closes (before depressing the spring in the needle)

Yamaha blaster runs but wont rev

ALWAYS have a fire extinguisher on hand when working on carburetors.
Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Is there any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Is there any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ).

Drain the carburetor. There should be a screw on the lower side of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carb to fill with gas. Install a new stock NGK spark plug and try to start the engine. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetor from the engine.

Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the carb.
Before putting the slide back in the throat of the carb, move the clip on the jet needle one notch lower. Put the rest of the carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. This process should get you back on the road.

Gas runs out of from carburetor

if you suspect the float is stuck, grab a screwdriver and tap the carb float bowl with the handle. you should be able to see this from the bottom of the tank. hopefully this will unstick the float.

if it doesn't, then it will require removing the carb and taking the float bowl off and seeing if the float is adjusted properly.
