Hi m8,,1st,, would u no if the bike has been resricted ,,to 33bhp,,if it hasent2nd,, have a look at the spark plugs,, start her up rev until it coffs or wont rev then hit the kill switch,,see wot colour the plugs are ,,they should a biscuit brown,,if not clean them up or change them,, 3rd test, start her up again throttle it a few times ,,untill shez warm,, then ,this sounds not nice, but either spit on your hand or dip hand in sum water, then quickly touch each exhaust down pipe, and make sure there isnt a pipe cooler than the other 3,, if u do find there is that would narrow the test down to that cylinder thats playin up,,try that 1st m8,, then come back if any probs still, and il take u threw next steps,,

RPM stall at 5000/6000

Definitely carb problems. Dieaphrams need to be checked and the carbs need to be synced.

Bike will start &idle & rev but when ridden misfires &won,t rev above 3000

its either fuel or air, check the air box under the seat, clean the filter, then check the fuel filter. If this doesnt work I would say you have dirt in your carb main jet.

94 yamaha xj 600 wont rev over 6000 rpm

You bike is running rich on the main jet. Go down on the main jet size. Alternate to that, move the jet needle clip up one notch.

Go to the site below and you can download a free PDF service manual and parts manual for your bike. The service manual is 45th from the bottom of the Yamaha listings and the parts manual is 19th from the top. Now you can tune the carb and adjust the timing chain slack and a whole lot more. It saves my keystroke finger a lot of work also.

Please rate this solution. Thanks glouellette!

My FZR 600 is acting up and backfires

I have had several bikes in my time. and keeping the carbs syncranized is very important. Did you put aftermarket pipes on it? try rejeting the carbs up 2+mm that may help the fuel air ratio?
