I am looking at buying this bike, it has 1273 miles on it. I have seen alot of people talking about the gear box and the problems. Is this something that I should stay away from?
Yes there has been some problems . the newer victory bikes 2004 or newer have been a very good bike.
i cant see buying this bike unless the price is very low.
loan value on this bike is $3200 i wouldnt buy this bike unless you could get it for $2800 or less
good luck
I bought a 2000 V92C victory motorcycle and it had been spectacular no problems ,no oil leaks, strong reliable easy handling. The only thing I've had to replace is the tps and it cost 35 dollars. It took the same tps that goes on a chevy. I wouldn't sell this bike for less then 4500 bucks, and I was happy to give 3000 for it. So for my money this has been a great bike. I don't know who this "fastboyz is but he must have had a lemmon or else it wasn't a victory.
jatouchofgra, can you explain what it was doing to replace the TPS? Mine jerks through some of the gears and periodically does the same. I replaced the plugs and threw some Seafoam in the tank and it's still doing it.
It wasn't running smooth at highway speeds, a friend of mine works at a motorcycle shop and suggested the TPS (throttle positioning sensor ) needed replaced and he was right. I turned out to be an easy fix, it runs strong now. I have heard of some problems with the early models but most people I talk to prefer Victory even to Harley, I'm sure I'll hear **** about that but it's ok.... good luck with your bike and be careful.
