Bought a fzr 6 registered1999 and had carbs cleaned and balanced, at low revs the engine runs lumpy but once above 3000 revs seems fine. Also sitting on the bike noticed that the 2 right hand exhaust outlet pipes are much cooler than the 2 left hand pipes. Have had it to a shop but they seem as bemused as me, says notices that when they turn the idle screw it has more of an effect then it should, at the moment the prob is sporadic as sometimes the bike idles fine. a contributing factor could be that before i bought the bike it had nt been used for about a year.
PS i have put clean fuel in.
Il try n help m8,, can i start by eliminating a few things,, have u made sure all 4 carb floats are the same height ,they need to be, ,and there is no holes in the diaphrams at the top of the carbs,,even a pin hole will give u grief,, ,,wot happens wen u pull the choke out wen motor is warm and idling,, if it evens out and pipes warm up then theres a blockage in 3 and 4 carb, and idel jets,or could have a split vacume pipe, or a air leak between the carb and cylinder,,if all fuel symtoms are ok ,, then make sure the coil wires are on properly, and good spark on the coolest cylinders, , try swapping over the coils to to see if the left cylinder becomes cooler than the right,,hope that gives an idea,,
Also check the plugs are they new ,do they have build up eg cardon/oily ? check the jets sizes are they rigth size ?

As far as i know the garage took the carbs apart and checked all the floats and cleaned one blocked jet which slightly improved the situation, i checked the coils and there is a good spark from the plug but ni will investigate a poss air leak. Thanks for the advice mate.
First got bike it didn't seem to have alot of power but sounded like it ran fine, found out the #2 cylinder was not working at all. I simply replaced the spark plug and it ran full power for about 50 miles, then the bike started loosing power after it fully warmed up. The first time I used the heat gun it appeared that all cyliders were still firing, but ater a second test ride it #4 cylinder was not warming up indicating that cylinder was not firing. The full pump sound louder now and seems to run longer on start-up, not sure how those could be related?
