I have a Boreem 49cc, it sat for 1 year. I replaced the battery and it cranked right up. After that I turned off and tried to crank it again, the battery was dead. Charged it and it worked the lights, horn etc. Tried to crank it, not enough to turn starter. Replaced the battery again, no change. No lights or anything. The bike will start and run with the pull starter, but we want all the bells and whistles to work. What can be pulling the battery down, I looked for shorts but found none.

There's many things that can deteriorate on a car after it has sat for that long of a time. I would change the oil, look at the coolant in the radiator and possibly change that if it looks bad. Check all of the rubber hoses and make sure they aren't cracked or dried out. The rings and seals inside the engine may be dried and stuck as well and all of this work that I'm suggesting be in vain. Good Luck!

the starter should be replaced. The solenoid is kikcing the pinion out but there is no contact being made to turn the starter motor. I have the exact same truck and before i changed the starter used the old starter tap trick. Tap the starter casing with a hammer and it should start turning again. hope this was helpful for you. Good luck.

I have had the exact same problem. There is an ignition lock that probably went off. There is a fuse box under the hood. The fuse that says ignition on it pull it out and put it back in. This should reset the ignition lock. Its a safety feature because the car thinks that someone was trying to tamper with it.

you need to replace the Park Neutral Safety Sensor on the bottom of the Transmission. Should only be a $125.00 part. Your battery and starter are fine. Replace it and iy will be fixed.

i'm sure it's not the starter itself that is the problem, have the stater's solenoid checked...it might be stucked. It's quite a lot of work removing the starter but you can do it if you are willing enough to learn. You just need the right idea and tools to do it. Hope this will help save you bucks!
