I have no porblems idling and revvingin neutral.. but under load ( actually riding it) it bogs at about 1/2 turn and sputters until I let off the throttle a little bit then it revss up and goes.. I've been messing with these carbs for three weeks now and this is the bes they 've acted however I want it more crisp when riding.. not knowing what else to do.. oh.. the exhaust isn't straight through.. just the emd baffles have been cut off.

Well you made 2 mistakes here.

1. pod filters
2. shortened exhausts.

These engines are designed and tuned specifically to run the best with the stock air filters as well as the stock mufflers and exhaust. Putting pods on and chopping off your exhaust pipes may look cool but it will cause the bike to run very poorly My advice would be to put it all back to stock and see how she rides and then change things one at a time.

I would check the compression of the piston, the rings could be stuck and not have good compression. It should show 120 psi or more. Also can pull off the exhaust and look in the exhaust port to see the rings, piston, and cylinder walls. If the motor has a power valve make sure that is not gummed up or stuck. Mark C

Hello Rick...Try backing the idle air screw out another half to 3/4 turn. The mid range stutter on these bikes is usually from the interface between the needle and the brass bushing just above the main jet. Also check your reeds, a chipped reed will cause the same problem. Clean all the carbon and gunk out of the expansion chamber. If it's real bad you may have to use a torch. Make sure your air filter is clean.
A 165 main jet will give you better response with a 40:1 mix, specially if the plugs are fouling.
..You can also go up a heat range on your plug... I hope this helps.

Hi I'm ddesperately trying to find instructions for a tent we just bought which is a Cantera 9. Would you be able to provide this for me please?

I have never seen your tent but found these instructions online. Hope they help:

Erection / Pitching

This tent pitches inner first and uses the popular ring and pin method to locate the poles on both the inner and outer and takes two to erect. The poles are all colour coded making it very easy to identify which poles go in which sleeves. The inner uses six poles to hold up, three for the main living area and one each for the bedroom pods. Once all poles are threaded, its advisable that one person gets inside the inner tent and supports the main poles as they are located. Tip here and for most tents of this design, make sure the first pole you locate on the main living area is the pole on the bottom of the crossover at the top of the tent, this then takes the weight of the poles above making it easier to secure. Locate the main poles and then the bedroom pod poles using the ring and pin system. The inner tent will then require pegging down and this takes around twenty pegs to secure. Finally once the inner is secure the outer flysheet is pulled over the inner, tied on the main poles and then finally pegged. The final thing to do is to locate the two porch poles and secure with the ring and pins and then peg out the guy ropes.

How to replace swing arm bearings on 1970 sportster

Get the bike up off the ground and make sure it's secure. Remove the rear wheel and the rear shocks. Look for anything else that may be attached to the swing arm such a brake rod return springs etc.

Once you have everthing off the swing arm, take the pivot bolt out and the swing arm with the bearings slides off the frame. Remvove the screw and lockwasher, bearing lockwasher, the right bearing locknut, and the bearing outer spacer. Using a punch, turn out the left bearing locknut from the fork hub and remove the spacer. From inside the fork, press or drive out the bearings and bearing spacers by applying pressure against the spacer. Press or drive out the bearing shields from fork inner side.

Hope this helps,

Good Luck

Just after the standed jet sides for my cbr900

122 outer and 125 inner main jets, 3rd clip from the top on all needles and from 2 to 3 rounds out on the pilots should give you a good mixture setting. Adjust pilots as needed for smooth idle and to allow for any intake or exhaust mods.
Good luck...i hope this helps.
