Usually when there is a ticking noise that changes as the rpm of the engine changes it could be that not all the components in the engine are properly lubricated. you may notice that noise occur temporarily when a car has been sitting for a while and all the oil runs to the bottom of the engine. as soon as the engine is running for a couple of seconds the noise goes away because oil is splashed on all those components. i recommend you check your oil level. i used to have a stealth with an oil leak...and i always knew when the oil was low because i would start to gradually hear the ticking noise. usually and hopefully that's it. it either that or you have bend rods that are slightly tappin on something else in there. but let's be a lil optimistic.

Oil pressure gauge does not reach 40 PSI. Heard the sounds like a loud ticking coming from the engine on the passengers side. Then pressed on the gas peddle and it didn't want to add power. Ticking n

Not sure if there is a question here or not. If the pressure is always below 40 and you are hearing engine noise, chances are the oil pressure really is low. You could replace the sending unit or use a mechanical gauge to verify.

Hi, viewer. It is possible what you heard is the purge solenoid in action. When the engine is running, you'll get to hear this continuous ticking noise from time to time, part of normal operation. Its only wise of you to check the oil and indicators on IPC ,and feel the engine performance Just to rule out some doubts. Keep it up. As to the noise, if you feel the ticking noise is quite annoying and seem not to fade away for a certain engine period, as if its always ticking all the time, just bring it to your trusted shop for verifications. Drive safely, and goodluck! : )

I always wonder why some mechanics just cant say they dont know.I drive a 2001 century every day with 93,000 miles on it.It developed a ticking noise at 80,000 that i diagnosed as a lifter noise.I change my own oil and I put a quart of auto trans fluid in the engine oil and drove it for a week before i changed the oil and the noise went away and stayed gone. This is a trick I learned from my dad who is also a mechanic and shop owner for 35 years.Give it a try and let me know.Good luck.

Valve ticking

It is not a valve. It is the purg selinoid for the evaporator. It is a normal noise and will not cause any problems. I have the same issue on my 300C. They may have redesigned it on the 08 and newer to get rid of the ticking noise. Chrysler has had many complaints about this noisey selinoid

Ticking noise in engine

It sounds like the lifters are still sticking. Change your oil/filter then after 500 miles change it again. Since motor oil has a mild detergents, a couple of changes should hopefully remove any buildup from around the lifters. Do not use "motor flush". Even though your engine is fairly new, it may remove too much buildup and flush it onto your crankshaft bearings. You may try some marvel mystery oil also and I've heard seafoam does a good job, if you can find it. Mine started ticking after using one of the super thick oil additives. I'm still trying to flush that stuff out.

Ticking noise

It is part of the waste gate just above the gas tank. It periodically checks for leaks and pressurizes and releases. Gives a ticking noise when it does this. Not a problem and GM is aware of this and said its normal on our cars.
