I still have problem starting My 2001 KTM LC4
Hello. I suspect that the actual cause of your troubles is old fuel. Read on. Whilst your bike was not operating for 3 months there has been no activity for the fuel... so, the fuel grows something like a moss or fungi in the tank... this is in the form of clogs, which is usually white for unleaded fuels.
So to make the engine to turnover again to start. All you need to do is, empty the fuel from the tank (Professionally or DIY) and fill it back up again with NEW FUEL.
Also get a can of starter fluid. IF the bike won't start with the new fuel, spray some starter fluid into the air intake and then crank it over. Keep it running with starter fluid if necessary for up to 5 minutes.
So when you leave your bike for an extended period of time (over 5 days) turn on the engine every 2nd day to clear out any white clogs, for only about 2 minutes.
And turn OFF the fuel switcher to prevent any fuel flow to the engine, which creates the white clogs.

I have a problem with the starter on my Sons 2000
Hi! Looks like that the starter is faulty. The solenoid is surely worn causing it not to kick the engine with force. If you have an extra one try replacing it. This will surely work. Please be sure that you got fuel and a good set of spark plugs and plug wires. Hope this helps and have a good one!
Hi My 2000 LC4 Supermoto has water in the oil I
drain the milky oil out and buy the thinnest oil you can find. fill the engine to the top with the thin oil (dont start it up) then drain it out straight away do that once or twice then put in the proper oil and it should be ok
Rear brake lock up on KTM LC4
When was the last time you checked/changed your rear brake pads? This isn't really easy to miss, with the reduced braking power and different sound when braking, but if you have worn the pads so much, that the pad's metal surface (or even the cylinder itself) has gone out and stuck into disc, you could have a problem... For starters, remove your brake caliper, and have a look inside, this can be done easily.

Iv'e had one on my 990SM since March and have done 5500miles with no hint of troubleit has double '0' rings on the piston, the KTM part only has one which allows the piston to cock-over and leak fluid, just take yours off and have a look.
I had 2 fail on my 950SM and 1 on the 990SM,the mineral clutch fluid gets very black from engine heat, changed the fluid several times but never could trust the standard one wasn't gonna let me down.,,,
