Does your carb have to have the rubber SLOW JET
Yes,that is part of the fuel passage,it should be a snug fit,if it pulls out easy or falls out it needs to be replaced, what I do to get them to fit easy is squirt wd 40 on a peice of paper and dip my finger in it and rub it on the rubber plug to make it easy to install, you dont need alot, just enough for it to slip in,I also do that on the o-rings on the float, that makes sure you get a good snug fit,and seals properly,I learned that the hard way, hpoe that helps out.
After only one or two days inactivity, the starter...
To start with I beliee your jets are gummed up to solve that I would just put some STP carb/injector cleaner additives using double recommended fuel mix ratio into the fuel tank, make sure the additives is properly mix with tank fuel, get the bike warnm up for about 10 minutes, then get it going for about 15 -20 minutes with variable gas bursts by revving the RPM between 2500 - 5000 RPM. Shut it off and let it cool off for about 30 - 60 minutes then repeat the same process again for another two to three times so the jets are cleaned out from any sticky gums. Make sure your battery have a full charge all the times, this may liokely resolve your problem. If good enough give your best comment. Thanks
How to take off a speedo drive from a honda cbx 750
if its similar to my 87cbrf1 my speedo cable routes down to the left fork and you"ll see the cable enter a black plastic piece one end having a screw, the inner cable tangs match the inner axle tangs while locked in place... you can spin the front wheel and watch the speedo react. Now to take it out all's you'll have to do is unscrew the holddown screw and pull the cable assembly back out. very easy. i just hope yours is mounted on the fork and not on the valve cover because im not too familiar with that type.hope this helps you out! can i get somefeedback.. only if it does help...thanks!
Carburators leaking
Tap the bowls with a screw driver handle while the gas is turned on. Your floats are sticking. If that doesnt work then you have to take the bowl off and make sure your floats are not bent.

Fixing an old 1977 honda
I'm thinking that has front brakes. If there is a cable running to hub from handle bars, then yes. Also, look for an arm sticking out from side of center hub that may have had a brake hooked up if no cable from handle bars. Rotating that slightly one way or the other should release brakes, and apply them the other way. If that doesn't work and the linkage (arm) is there for brakes, you may have to pull front wheel and pull it apart to fix.
