1999 Volkswagen Cabrio convertible. Driver window doesn't go all the way down or up on vehicle
well it's broken and needs SERVICE
are you asking how to test and find exact cause
or asking wild guesses/?
why o why?
first are the guides inside not broken and jamming
and the motor drive there on most car for sure newer
have kid proof motor clutch that fails and slips too soon
or the the motor is weak,or bad wiring to the motor.
what I do is remove motor and operate window by hand
if ok ,make sure motor gets full 12vdc power using a voltmeter, if that is good then motor is bad.(clutch and all in one)
next you ask how ? to get to those parts?, answer pull the door cards. they pop off, google how. or youtube it.
My 2002 golf TDI turbo won't engage
There are several possible reasons why the turbo on your 2002 Golf TDI might not be engaging:
- Boost pressure issue: The most common cause of a non-engaging turbo is a boost pressure issue. This can be caused by a leak in the intake system, a damaged turbocharger, or a clogged air filter.
- Malfunctioning wastegate: The wastegate is a component that controls the amount of exhaust gas that flows through the turbocharger. If the wastegate is malfunctioning, it may not allow the turbo to engage properly.
- Faulty turbocharger control solenoid: The turbocharger control solenoid is responsible for regulating the amount of pressure that goes to the turbocharger. If the solenoid is faulty, it may not be able to control the pressure properly, leading to a non-engaging turbo.
- Electrical issue: There may be an issue with the electrical components of the turbo system, such as a faulty wiring harness, sensor or control module.
To diagnose the problem, you can check for any visible leaks in the intake system or damage to the turbocharger. You can also check the wastegate for proper function and inspect the turbocharger control solenoid for any signs of damage or failure. If you are unsure how to perform these checks, it is recommended to take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic for a proper diagnosis and repair.
Hello I have a 1997 Volkswagen Polo Playa.
Question edited into written English, well as far as I could :>D You saw *we* tested but we didn't "U tested my battery it read 12.5". "I tasted my fuse box". What did it taste like?
Number one tip, NEVER disconnect batteries. They will last a couple of weeks or more even if they are weak.

Voltage is one thing, but batteries need to be load tested as well. If you remove battery leads the lead posts and connectors oxidize. Clean the connectors with a wire brush and smear them with Vaseline to stop oxidization and improve continuity.
Radios only need voltage to run and not 'amps' as in current, not amplifiers.
Some battery positive connectors have a large 60 Amp fuse in the positive battery lead, mine is Yellow. Look for that as it would cause total power failure.
If all fails, call out a mobile auto electrician.

Drivers side window doesn't close and is stuck
if not fuses, try closing the window with the door open it maybe that friction has built up in the window runners. if you get the window open try putting a small about of vasaline on a q tip into the groove on the door runner or the window this should reduce friction and allow the winow to close if this does not work i would take it to a dealership or shop as the window maybe out of alignment check around the window to see if anybody has tried to force entry to the vehicle this may have pulled the window out of alignment.
