Volkswagen Polo 1.4 Automatic. I can't move when engaged into drive or reverse. What can be the problem please?
This will likely take a diagnosis by a professional mechanic. The problem has about 4 different possible causes and I can't eliminated them for you. 1. The hydraulic pump might have not been installed correctly. 2. Your transmission fluid might be low. 3. The transmission might have been damaged before or during the pump replacement. 4. The solenoid pack that regulates the flow of fluid in the valve body might be faulty causing the transmission to malfunction. I am sorry to tell you that Volks wagons are expensive to work upon. I will mention that in another brand of Japanese car, a bad interlocking solenoid could be bypassed by pressing a button or jamming a wire in it to keep it depressed and the car would shift gears then. A mechanic might say the assembly might have to be fixed when only the solenoid had to be replaced. But as some of the potential causes are likely to ruffle a mechanic, depending if stay with the one that changed the pump, I don't want to "stir" trouble and my last comment may be totally useless. Sadly, you will have to make use of a professional mechanic experienced with Volkswagons. This is going to sting and I am truly sorry for your predicament. You never know your luck. Maybe it is low transmission fluid.

Vw golf .... alpha...... safe 2
"2 safe" means that your radio was in safe mode, and then the code was improperly entered 2 times. you either need to disconnect your battery and leave it for up to 4 hours (i've been told), or leave your key in the ignition for around an hour.
once it comes out of "2 safe" mode, then it will just say SAFE and give you the numbers 1-0-0-0. You just need to enter the 4 digit code (using your pre-set numbers 1-2-3-4 to change the numbers), then hold the seek > button and your radio should come on.
If you don't have the code, call VW. they'll find your code for free. they did for me. if not they'll charge like $50 or something.

How to remove oil pan on 2001 volkwagen beetle
I replaced my oil pan on my 2001 Beetle. It was a tough job as two of the bolts are impossible to reach around the gear box. I had to bend some tools and I am very lucky I was able to get that last bolt. It was a frustrating day. If you can affort to have someone replace it for you, you can buy a new pan at Napa.
Beetle 2001 door window goes up half way and comes back down
The window is out of alignment on the tracks. It has a sensor that tells it when there is too much resistance when rolling up, to keep you from getting your fingers smashed if they're in the way. The misalignment is causing too much load on the motor, so it thinks something is in the way and lowers the window back down.
On my car, you can get the window to go all the way up by rolling it up and stopping before it starts to bind, then place your hand flat on the glass and pull toward the back of the car while pressing the button.
The fix is that you have to pull the door panel off, and inside are two large black rubber plugs. Remove them both, reconnect the window switches, then lower the window to the point where two bolts on the frame at the bottom of the glass are visible through the holes. Loosen the bolts and adjust the position of the window, then tighten them again. Verify that it rolls up and down without binding; if not, repeat the adjustment procedure until it does.
Reinstall the rubber plugs and replace the door panel. Unless there's something mechanically broken inside the door tracks, you should be good to go.
