which engine, ill toss coin, land on v6
check fuses first.
wont crank? that grrrrr grrrrr grrrrr sound
jumper cable start it yet, why not?
or put in a known good charged car battery?
or using any battery charger charge yours?
or buy a new battery, (if rich)

if it cranks and wont start?
check spark x6 (scan it yet?)
if sparks ok try test fuel!
if test fuel fails 100% see bad belt below.

EVER REPLACE THE CAM BELT?
if not and over 60k on the last one
the belt is doomed, living on borrowed time.
got the V6?

fuel pump shot or fuel injectors plugged also check for loose wiring by your tank or by the injectors

try to pull the fuel line and crank the engine.

check the fuel line pressure it should read 55lbs ,on the fuel injector rail is a tyre valve looking thing with a plastic cap ,connect a pressure gauge to this and see what you get

Have your map sensor checked.
Black smoke is unburned fuel or carbon.
Is your check engine light on?
If so go to Autozone or Checker O'Rellys
And have them get you a free reading.

If its the 3.0 diesel it could be the rail oil pressure sensor starting to pack up .

Generic to most pump controls, down increases pressure. If you are going to do this, I suggest you get a pressure gauge and connect it to the system and find out what the recommended pressure is. Turn adjustment in small increments 'till you reach proper pressure.

Change the fuel pump relay....and let mee know
