Car won't start

Our car suddenly stopped starting without warning. It is a 4 cyl., 2.2 liter, 2001 Saturn L-series sedan. The engine turns, but it won't turn over. We have changed the fuel pressure regulator and the ignition coil pack. The engine is giving no codes. We are unable to check the fuel pressure due to we can't get the engine started, however the fuel pump is coming on and fuel is gushing to the fuel pressure regulator when you turn the key (we know this because it was visible when the regulator was removed.) When the ignition coil was checked, we were getting spark on two plugs - we replaced that and now are getting spark on all four. The starter and solenoid have also been replaced. Any suggestions????

There is a recall on this model for problems with the Engine Control Module/Coil Pack. This causes the engine to not start. Take it to the nearest Saturn dealer and get it repaired free of charge. This problem can eventually burn up your catyletic converter which will lead to much more costly repairs. There are actually 3 recalls on this vehicle. Take it to the dealer and get it taken care of. It will be like driving a new car once the repairs have been made!

Check the vent in the gas cap. Vacuum in the tank will build up and prevent fuel flow till relieved. When it won’t start, take off the gas cap and listen for the sound of air rushing into the tank.

Hi :) That starting system has a coil pack and if one side stops working the engine only fire on 1-3 or 2-4 which make the engine shake and not start. There should be a crank senor that could be on its way out. and check the relays in the black box buy the battery there is one for the fuel pump and pre start pump.

My 2001 L Series Saturn ran out of gas, then after 1 gallon of gas was added to the tank, the engine would not turn over. Any suggestions for how to get it to start?

the fact that it won`t turn over is just a coincedent it happened when you ran out of gas.i`m assuming that you mean the motor won`t turn over at all and not that you mean it will turn over and not start.if it is the latter then the fuel needs time to fill the lines and pressurize the fuel system while cranking over.

ENGINE FLOODING ON START UP . . .

When starting any fuel injected vehicle you DO NOT need to press the gas peddle. Once the ignition is turned on the fuel pump energizes and fuel is injected into the intake.
