My 2007 Equinox with 23,000 miles ran fine yesterday. I filled up with gas on my way home, then this morning I tried to crank it to come to work. It would turn over each time, but, would die seconds afterwards. All the lights and radio and air came on with the turn of the ignition. I turned them all off after the first couple cranks thinking it might be the battery. Any ideas?

This sounds like the fuel pump pressure check valve is defective, that is the usual cause of this long crank time issue, I am sure if you replace the fuel pump and filter the problem will go away. If you want to verify this issue have a shop run a fuel pressure leak down test, after the key is turned off the fuel press should not drop more than 5 PSI

Same thing happened to me at about 140k. It was the fuel pump. Best way to test if your pump is failing and loosing pressure is to see if the car will start immediately after it has been running, or turn the key to the alt position for a few minutes before starting. If your engine fires faster after it has been running or the key has been in the alt position you will probably need a new fuel pump. Great news is with a very deep socket to get the tank straps off its a 30 minute job to replace the pump/filter assembly.

Check fuel cut off switch, if the car was parked somewhere where it could have been hit. Reset the switch by pressing down on the button.

OK if only 4 months old, charge it with an external battery charger. Once vehicle is running the quick and still most valid test I make is:
Running, with no accessories on, charge volts on volt meter (not dash gauge) should read between 12.9 &14volts. Turn all accessories and headlights on high beam. Volts should not read below 12.5v at idle and should not creep lower after running at any time, even after ten or fifteen minutes. If voltaqge is not as specified alternator has failed and needs replacement.

Solution found:
The fuel driver put diesel in the unleaded pumps. The Chevrolet dealership fixed it (emptied tank, replaced oxygen sensor) and the gas station paid the $570 bill with no problems.
